$159 for an N100 mini is an absolute STEAL.

  • Sweet price!!!

  • +1

Review is not great. might be better off to buy a refurb Dell micro.

*Unit overheated (70-80c CPU temp on idle) since day 1 and shutdown unexpectedly 4 times in two days according to event-viewer. *

  • +2

    Wish it was dual NIC

    • +7

      Beggers choosers etc

    • +4

At this price, just buy two!

    • The T9 from Ninkear on AliExpress was a decent price for dual port with DDR5

      • +1

        Got a link?

        • I tried and got rejected by the affiliate /referral filter.

        • The Ninkear only has HDMI 1.4 based on AliExpress specs. Is that info accurate? I can't find info on Ninkear website oO

          • @ClioB: I have this thing sitting on my desk. Is there an easy way to determine Hdmi version?

            • @philotex: Not actually sure… From reading online HDMI 1.4 only supports 4k at a refresh rate of 24 vs HDMI 2.0 which supports 4k at a refresh rate of 50 and 60. So if you have a 4k monitor with a refresh rate of 60 but you are locked to a low figure (24), maybe that's a give away.

  • That is an incredibly cheap price, might be an all time low?

    • +3

      It'll never beat the $69 N95 variant

      • +1

Ah, that coupon and discount code stacking error 😂

  • Wow good price, I bought a similar N100 box (Trigkey G4) just a couple weeks ago and tempted to get this one as well just because it’s cheap 😅

    • i impulse bought a little chuwi minibook with an n100 and they perform pretty well for the price. this thing would probably be a little better given more space / less thermal issues i imagine.

  • Can this thing play games?

    • Retro games, for sure. For modern games it really struggles, even at the lowest graphics settings — definitely wasn't meant for playing games.

  • +2

    $100 coupon gone already!

  • I can see $259.

Is there a code or something?

  • +3

Note to future self. Buy first then watch YouTube vid about product.

    • +1

      You think, you miss out.

  • +4

    Lasted less than 15 minutes?

    • +2

Yeah, they sold all 3 of them with the coupon code.

  • Pretty damn good for a power sipping everyday use machine. More powerful than many mid range CPUs from several years ago, besides the extremely minimal power use.

  • I purchased the exact one a few months ago for my kids. It is surprisingly speedy for regular everyday use and light gaming. I am very happy with it, and the price is a steal.

    • No overheating issues?

      • Not at all.

        • I wonder if ambient temperature has a play in this.
i.e. good in winter, not so great in summer.

  • +5

Anyone who takes the risk on buying this machine, make sure you do a full disk wipe and reinstall windows.

    • May I ask why?

      • +6

The factory image that have been used before had included bonus malware. (Allegedly)

    • Sorry mate, noob here.

Do you have instructions on how this can be done please?

      @Aureus

      For this particular model?

      • +1

Just download a copy of Windows from MS
        https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows11

Boot off USB. Select Windows 11 Pro. Select "Custom" install. Then delete all listed partitions and click next (Windows will create partitions). Then it should just be next next etc.

        • Sound easy enough. I should go into bios and change boot from usb for that first time right?

          Thank you.

          • @Lord Ra: Yeah. Probably required. :)

            • @Aureus: Thanks. What about drivers? Which website do I get them from please?

              • +1

@Lord Ra: Usually not necessary anymore. Just do Windows update.

Maybe worth grabbing the newest graphics driver from Intel site. Everything else should have drivers out of the box and/or updated from Win update.

        • Can I ask how you find the windows key to do a fresh install?

          • @NSM1986: Windows keys should be saved to bios. So when you reinstall it should automatically apply.

            • @Aureus: Thanks mate. I ordered one so will need to do this

  • +1

    they don't last 😞

    • +2

      the deals or the product?

  • Damn, always see these too late

    • $259 is still a good price.

      • +1

There's better ones for that price, like the beelink or trigkey as they have wifi 6 at BT 5.2.

Also, I don't really need one of these, but for $159 I would probably bite :)

        • Good to know. Apart from wifi, is there anything else that makes it better? Specs wise? So I can make better recommendations in the future.

    • Oh don't feel bad. I posted the deal and I also missed it. Took too long watching youtube for reviews and comments

  • I purchased this item the last time it was on sale at this price. It worked well for the first few months, but then the fan began to make loud noises. There is a 1-star review with a video demonstrating the same issue.

  • Gotta be quick here for sure.

  • What do people commonly use these machines for? I ask because I have something similar from Lenovo, and have no idea what to do with it just yet. Was initially thinking a dedicated DOS box plugged in my TV, but with Win11 the machine feels like it needs to be a bit more "dumb" so my kids can use it, and not mess up anything in Windows by accident. Any help appreciated!

    • I use mine for an Emby server and also currently a dedicated server for enshrouded.

    • I have one as a dedicated PC for web browsing, etc. and another for a server, running containerised apps.

  • Got yesterday, good solid replacement for my current NUC, finally no bluetooth lag.

Only downside which is for me, can't be hung underneath, has to be hung face down, as it is designed to hang on back of PC. Just drilled into the cupboard and ran wires behind just a FYI.

  • these have bigger fan on the bottom which makes it different to the firebat ak2 plus…so sometimes worth spending the extra
