Guinness Draught Cans 440ml $3 Each C&C (+ $10 Delivery with $30 Order) @ BWS

1530

I just found another glitch in the BWS matrix for my local in SA…

Can $3
Pack (6) $29
Case (24) $88

Quick maths suggests that at $3 per can you can buy the equivalent of a 6-pack for $18 or a carton for $72 but in any smaller quantity you desire which is helpful if you are trying to reduce your alcohol consumption but don't want to pay a premium for the privilege!

+10% cashback through Cashrewards.

Edit: I forgot to mention this for people who do not yet have an account with BWS:

10 x cans for $30, minus $10 for the sign up voucher would be the best use. That would bring it down to $2 per can. The sign up terms state $50 minimum spend but it is actually $30

I tried to pay for the cans on the BWS app, but the payment failed yet they’ve charged me

    • +1

That's been a problem with the app for quite some time

  • Just refilled my supply. Thanks OP

  • +1

Awesome, thankyou. Just ordered a carton ready for winter

  • +2

Bought with the 10% cashback @CR
    Ready to collect!

    • Same here, thanks. Guinness works a treat in the colder months.

      • +6

        Enjoy🍺
Dark beer is good when it gets cooler.
Already have a carton of nice craft Porter. Drinking as a treat.
These will extend the life of those.

        • Thank Mr poetry

          • +2

@Skinnerr: Guiness is a drink to be poetic about.

"A good puzzle would be to cross Dublin without passing a pub."… James Joyce

            • @INFIDEL: YouTube challenge (impossible)

              • +2

                @Skinnerr: Joyce was right!
But somehow, I wasn't trying to avoid the pubs in Dublin🍺
                That would be sacrilegious!!

Before leaving for Éire, read a book by Australian Evan McHugh.
                "Pint-Sized Ireland
In search of the Perfect Guinness"

A grand read & lots of Craic.

Full of great yarns & advice…
Best drunk at pubs closest to the brewery (rumours that 1 had direct line to St. James’s Gate brewery)
And not to drink where no one is drinking the Black Stuff!

So I set off to do my own "research"🍺
Broke both those "rules" in 1 pint!

Late on a Sunday night, arrived in tiny remote village of Glencolumbkille (pop 207) in Donegal, beside the wild Atlantic ocean. A fair distance from Dublin.

                Pub was closed…
Only place open was an Italian restaurant with display of wine…
                Yes, they served Guinness.
                The worst I've ever tasted😜

    • Legend!

    • Good call. Done, ordered 12 for pickup $36, minus 10% CB <- ensure you don't use the bws mobile app

For those on the fence, cheaper than buying two or three out.

  • +2

Tried to buy 3 cans last night in store - north Ryde. NSW - but was told it was max 2 cans per person per day. Deal runs til end of June

    • +1

I have noticed with BWS there is a lot of things you can do online that can't be done in store, e.g. "mix and match 8 craft singles" but actually just add 8 of the same to the cart for 25% off.

      • I got the same cans in store 25% off. They scanned the can barcode. Depends on who/which store you get then

      • It's been glitchy for years and they've never really fixed it. I did a variant of this with Little Creatures back in 2019 https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/505116

      • +1

Just bought a 6 pack in my local store. Guy scanned a single can X6. I asked if thgere was a limit, he said no, nothing on the promotional material and nothing comes up on the screen. Then he pointed to a stack of cases on the floor, saying they were all click & collect at $3 per can X24.

      • Just bought 8x for $18 with 25% off craft singles.

Was only going to buy 4 but the guy told me about the loophole.

    • +1

Did you have a ticket? To Ryde? 🤔

    • trying to buy >2 cans online now (no account) ONce I click + for the second can , it says "purchase limit 2" under the $6 total

      • Bought 10 for $20… Yesterday🤔
As others posted - limit of 2 now!

        • +1

You should have waited, bws 27% cashback

          • @G-rig: On only 2 x $3 cans??
            Can't use new account $10 off $30 code…
            Glad I bought & saved more!😉
            Will buy some whiskey👍

            • +1

@INFIDEL: Dunno, stuff opening too many new accounts.
Yeah I'm sure you'll find something ha.

              • @G-rig: On $30 purchase - get $10 off any time, immediately with new account code.

On $33 purchase through SB, get $8.10 back in 40d (maybe).

(Been meaning to open & link a bank account for higher SB payout!)

  • Thanks, i was able to order 12 cans for pick up.
    Cheers.

Prefer Kilkenny to Guinness but good find regardless

    • +1

You can't split the K though

    • Is Kilkenny $3? Haha

  • +1

Thanks OP, ordered a few. The 0.0 is also the same price. Haven't tried it but heard it's alright for a non-alcoholic beer.

    • +2

Its pretty good to be honest

    • +1

It's great for a non-accoholic beer, first tried it in Lerwick, Scotland last August, good to see it now here in AU.

  • it's not a glitch , it's a special

  • Ok need an expert to weigh in

Is drinking Guinness good for you and why is the answer yes?

    • +1
    • +3

You used to get a Guinness after donating blood (also after giving birth I believe) in Ireland. Related to replenishing iron levels. Many would give blood and then head out for a cheap session. Doesn't happen anymore unfortunately. The medicinal factors were overblown.

      • +1

A single egg would give you three times as much Iron, so unless you have an aversion to drinking a can a raw eggs every day, Guinness is probably the lesser option.
        /s

        • Plus you get the added benefit of cholesterol with the egg. No booze is healthy, let's not kid ourselves. Adds to fatty liver disease. I'll still be ordering a few, ying and yang.

      • +1

Thanks to both of you, I feel totally vindicated! Will crack one open tonight - on OzBargain doctor's orders.

  • Seems to be valid in NT

  • 34 cans = free delivery!

  • +3

Oh nice, recently started drinking Guinness. Time stock up!
I see they got 0% too, may grab me so the gf can't complain if I crack one at 9am

  • -2

If you get 8 singles you will be charged same as 6- pack . Bws has 25% off on craft beers if you buy 8 singles.

    • +1

i tried, it doesn't work for me.

  • $3/can. Is that a… Guinness world record…?

    • +2

      😄 Not an Ozbargain record…
eg ~$11.70 for 6 2 months back - after cashback!!
      This is $2.70ea after cashback

I forgot to mention this for people who do not yet have an account with BWS:

  • Thanks, just ordered 12 for pickup

    • How did you order 12? its showing limit of 2.

  • +1

Cheers! Just got 12 for 26, as I got a $10 voucher for signing up for BWS for the first time.

    • Damn I should have done that, I checked out as guest..

    • +1

10 x cans for $30, minus $10 for the sign up voucher would be the best use. That would bring it down to $2 per can. The sign up terms state $50 minimum spend but it is actually $30!

    • Where did your voucher pop up? I can't seem to find mine

    • How did you order 12? its showing limit of 2.

  • +1

    Love those maths!

  • +1

One to drink and one for a lamb stew, nice one.

  • +1

I use to buy singles cheaper than 6 packs at first choice. Didnt want to make it obvious what i was doing so i would always buy 5 beers. If i said heres a 6 pack but scan them individually they might of patched the glitch

  • Just grabbed 6 for $18 c&c no worries, $1.80 cashback tracked. Come back here to be reminded how easy it is to get a $10 sign up voucher, oops. Still a great deal at $2.70 per can, thanks OP!

    • How did you order 6? its showing limit of 2.

      • It let me add 6 individual cans straight up for c&c at my local BWS in Tas. Maybe try another store?

        • SB 27% cashback

  • For the new customer $10 off promo, does it automatically add it at check out or is there a coupon code? I'm not getting any discount at the check out!

    • Coupon code should be emailed to you immediately when you sign up, enter that at checkout.

  • Dan Murphy just bought a slab for $66.

Plus the Guinness weather comp is back for free pints.

I hate winter, but this makes it tolerable

    • +2

Guiness slab is $86 from Dan's for me. Where is it $66?

  • grabbed 6!

    • How did you order 6? its showing limit of 2.

  • It worked perfectly for me! Thank you!

  • if it's $3 a can , how could a six pack cost $29?

    • +1

Exactly. This is the glitch. Price "should" be $7 per single can.

  • +1

Thanks OP, bought some for my Dad's bday present, inter-state so he can collect himself :D

  • +1

Everyone saying how good this is, but imo the draught version is not very nice. 4.2% and watery. Tastes more like a cheap dark lager. Pass even for $3

    • +4

Each to their own, hey :)

    • +1

Taste is subjective. This is as close as you can get to what is on tap.

      • yea I loved it, thank you OP. It was my first time tasting Guinness. it was bitter at first but got used to it later. I only got 3! Maybe I should order more for tomorrow!

    • Its OK for the price, but watery & lower alcohol content compared to a good Porter or Stout.

So much better off the tap in a bar that sells a lot of Guinness.
Certainly enjoyed it in pubs in Ireland Smooth, dark & thick.

      • True but can't really compare to off the tap in Ireland.
12 of these are about the same as two pints out.

        • +1

If you've ever drunk the Black Stuff off the tap in Ireland, that will always be your comparison🍀

Add to that the atmosphere & live Irish music if you're lucky. Just the pour is a performance not to be forgotten!

These are OK for $2 a can. Pub prices can be very steep!!

          • +1

@INFIDEL: True yep. Been to some places here where they pour it properly too, so I appreciate that.

Yes for $2.70 a can they should be alright for winter. Still not as nice as some of the hipster oatmeal stouts and porters, but a four pack of small cans are at least $25.

These are delicious [Bridge Road Brewers >
            Eggster Triple Chocolate Ale]

@G-rig: I like a good Porter or rich dark ale. But they're expensive!
Bought these to drink to extend the life of a case of tasty craft BlackBerry Porter😉

$2 a can following suggestion in Deal Description! Placing another order for 10 cans🍺

              • @INFIDEL: Ah right, good idea. These will certainly do the job for general drinking. May have to sample one tonight, the weather is cold enough now.

Mind you, I used to drink it in Cairns when it was hot af, usually just one to start with and then onto lighters beers. PJ O'Brien's do a pretty good pour.

                • +1

                  @G-rig: Good ol' PJ O'Brien's😄
Had many drinks there with backpackers.

My first taste of Stout was in an airconditioned pub - while hitchhiking the Hay Plains. Temp was 40 outside. A long time ago.

Moved on to Guinness. But haven't drunk it in years. Then to tastier drops.

Got a taste for Black beer - at any temperature!

                • @G-rig: Sitting in the sun, drinking a Guinness now🌞

                  • @INFIDEL: Ha, nice. I got a Guiness glass I'll pop in the freezer when I get home (used to be good souvenirs).

                    • @G-rig: Souvenirs… naughty you!
                      That's where I keep my (non-Guinness) glasses!

My pours are improving - a nice head.

  • I shared this with a friend of mine, he went down to his local BWS and I was told he can only buy 2 can's with the $3 each pricing.. which was a bit sh*t
I had no issues doing click and collect for $3 each (2.7 after cashrewards - different store)

  • None of the stores around Wollongong able to pick up when checking out

  • This or Mercury Hard Cider which is at similar price, $3/can.

  • How soon to get the $10 voucher 😂😂

    • +2

apparently it is a generic code. use this S8n3-T4p-e7u

      work for me for twice

      • Confirmed 👍

  • Can’t order online anymore

    • No! Maybe just your store?
Ordered another 10 online for $20!
80 at store 5 min walk from home

      • Lol they aren't that good, wish I got 6 not 12, lot of empty calories haha

        • +1

No, but @$2 (less 10c deposit) - cheap enough for 440ml @4.2% for an occasional drink… 2 drunk, 14 more to go

Keeps me away from my better, more expensive drinks😉

7 May is the true empty calories day - free donut day @KK, Donut King, etc
