I’ve seen mentioned in here that the Tesla home charger will charge any EV. The website confirms this but doesn’t add much detail.
How is this possible? Does it include a bunch of adapters?

Possibly BYD.
Nope, it's the Tesla v3 and v4 super chargers that dont work with some of the original Atto 3 and Seal vehicles. v2 Super chargers seem to work fine.
Although the Nissan Leaf uses the Chademo receptacle
CHAdeMO is the DC fast charging plug, not the AC plug. The Leaf will either have the older Type 1 (J1772) ot Type 2 (Menekkes) plug for AC charging. Either of these ports should work on a Tesla destination AC charger (albeit the Type 1 will need an adaptor to connect)
Can confirm I have charged my Atto 3 with a V2 supercharger and the standard home Tesla chargers.
Only issue is it'll only charge at 7kw, even if it's plugged into a 3 phase Tesla charger that can do 22kw. Bit annoying.
Bit annoying.
Thats a BYD 'feature' sadly.
@JimmyF: Edit: NVM, thought you were replying to me…
And yes, the 7kW charging for the BYD range is a “feature”, because it is only single phase charging.
It’s worse when you plug into a 11kW charger and only get about 3.2kW of speed, because it’s only 15a on a single phase.
It doesn't need any adaptors, it uses the standard plug (Type 2) used by all new EVs for sale in Australia today. You'll only need to worry about an adaptor if you buy an older (pre-2017) second hand model, or an imported Japanese model
If the are set up and commissioned correctly, yes. They are a basic Level 2 charger and should charge anything. That being said, if it has been programmed to accept a set VIN or Tesla only, no hope.
No, they dont need "adaptors, as they should all be Type 2 connectors (Menekkes). the only Teslas that came out with anything other than Type 2 in Australia are the older Model S and Model X.
Source: My friend owns a Tesla Model 3 and Tesla charger and I have used his charger before. My local shopping centre has 2 Tesla chargers and both work on my vehicle and I have seen them working on heaps of other types of EVs.

If anyone had an EV that didn't work with a Tesla charger they'd pretty soon learn not to bother trying to use them.

Guessing you are new to EVs. Australia uses the CCS2 standard, most cars have this plug excluding Nissan and some really early Tesla (like 2018 early, but a retro fit was offered for them).
The website confirms this but doesn’t add much detail.
What detail are you looking for? There isn't really much to it and they all work basically the same for home AC charging. Shove the charger in the hole, car chargers. Done charging, remove the charger.
I think you're confusing type 2 (an AC standard) with CCS2 (a DC charging standard). Type 2 is a kind of defacto standard in Australia, there is no standard.
Pictures of the Tesla charger show a plug that appears to be a narrower than type 2 so I assumed it was different.
You probably got pictures of the connector they use in the USA, which is different to the rest of the world.

Don't neg me as you don't understand what CCS2 is…… It covers AC and DC standards.
Do you own a EV? no…
Do I? Yes..
standard in Australia, there is no standard.
There is two standards in Australia…..
CCS2 and chademo. One is dying a slow death.
CCS2 is used by just about every OEM in Australia but the Japanese ones, as chademo is the standard for them.

Oh my! Incredible, you have the entirely of Ozbargain quivering in their jocks.
There is two standards in Australia…..
Ah yes. The very definition of national standardisation. There “is two” of them. But also others too. Your comprehension is impressive.
CCS2 and chademo
Ah yes we’re all on one standard apparently but now there are two of them. You said CCS2 before. Okay. Please remind me which plug the Tesla home wall charger has? Is it CCS2 or CHAdeMO? I’ll await your answer on that one. I’ll also step out and allow others to debate you on it as you’re no longer impressing me, despite you owning an EV.
Assuming you are talking about Tesla Wall Connector 3 - it will charge almost any EV, I have heard reports there are issues with a small few. Can't remember which brand though. Possibly BYD.
You don't need adaptors, almost all EVs in Australia use the CCS2 receptacle. (Although the Nissan Leaf uses the Chademo receptacle).
