just bought the Amazon GC, should read this comment first!
        ah well, lose 15c ….

        • +1

Yeah, after writing it I realised that the difference is small anyway on a $30 gc. $0.16 and you have an extra step of swapping it (if you 100% want Amazon anyway).

          • +3

@hamza23: 16c is 16c. I've done more for less before lol

            • +7

@eciuj: Compounded for a few hundred years you'll be able to buy a tent in 2300

            • -1

@eciuj: I missed out on the 16c too. My life is ruined. :(

      • Mine says "Bunnings, IKEA, Freedom, Temple & Webster, Sheridan, Amart, Spotlight." I don't see Amazon?

        • +1

It doesnt say but confirmed swappable when you actually action it

        • +1

Yeah it's never been written on the description, my copy paste is from the actual swap options in Prezzee.

          • @hamza23: Just bought it and swapped for Amazon. Cheers

          • @hamza23: Would you recommend swapping out to Amazon right away in case they take out this merchant?

            • +1

@DoctorCalculon: Well it's been like this for a couple months or so, but yeah to be safe you should. Personally i am just swapping it as I need because I could always use them at Bunnings and it's not a big deal to me. Especially as Bunnings give change to the gift card below $9.95 in cash.

  • thx mate

  • +6

Sure does remind me of the old CR days, good times.

  • +1

You will need to ensure you opt-in to the challenge and only purchases made after you ‘Start’ this challenge will qualify for the $10 bonus Cashback.

They fixed this in the app.

  • +2

I assume this is also valid for the Super Swap card (covering Coles)?

    • +4

      Yes.

'Valid for any brand purchased on ShopBack Gift Cards (including movie tickets)'.

I have been using the 2% supermarket visa gift card for Coles, also use it at ALDI, local fruit n veg stores etc, but the minimum purchase amount for that GC is $100, so better off with super swap for this $30 deal if you want Coles.

      • Cheers - I missed that deal. I normally use my HSBC card for Aldi and 'other' grocery shops, but that deal would've made it worthwhile purchasing.

        • +2

That supermarket visa gift card can also be used to buy discounted gift cards at Coles/Woolworths, as you are paying by 'credit card', where you usually wouldn't be able to paying with normal gift card.

          • +5

            @hamza23:

That supermarket visa gift card can also be used to buy most discounted gift cards at Coles/Woolworths

            FIFY.

Woolworths has chosen to block ShopBack Supermarket Visa gift cards as a payment method when you try to purchase some gift cards (e.g. Vanilla Mastercard, Vanilla Visa, TCN eftpos); if you try to do this anyway, you will trigger the Items Not Allowed error. This error does not appear for most gift cards sold at Woolworths, though (e.g. Apple, Ultimate, Uber).

            • +3

              @WookieMonster: @WookieMonster Love your work.
Correction. Last night tried to purchase eBay GC from Woolies using supermarket gift card and got the Items Not Allowed error. Looks like the block might extend further than just those cards above.

              • +1

@awesomedude: eBay is a bit of a strange outlier, because someone told me back in January 2022 that they could not use an eftpos gift card to purchase an eBay gift card at Woolworths. (They got the Items Not Allowed error too.) I am not sure what makes eBay so special compared to Ultimate or Apple gift cards.

          • @hamza23: That's good to know. Does that mean it can also be used to purchase SIM packs in Coles/Woolworths (which also usually cannot be paid for with a regular gift card)?

            • +1

@Chris T: Yes I have purchased Lebara sims with it before.

  • +1

16% back on BCF gas refills, thanks OP!

  • +1

    Thanks bought a $30 7/11 gift card

    • Samesies. Been one day shy of a month since the last 7-Eleven GC deal :(

    • same 7-11 GC

  • Thanks OP, bought $25 Ampol & $5 Coles.

Should have read the comment on Super Swap Card above first. $5 x (0.017 - 0.005) = 6 cents

    • +3

Yeah always buy the 1.75% superswap (not 2.25% home swap, no supermarkets there), or the 2% supermarket card (min $100) for Coles, instead of the 0.5% Coles card.

  • +2

Thanks!! If you’ve been smashing the StGeorge deals recently don’t forget to flick the payment method back to westpac after swiping buy now !!!!!

    • +3

For me its pretty easy to identify
as its interesting that my St george is a Visa card, while Westpac is a mastercard

      • Agreed, StGeorge only do visa and westpac Mastercard. Its more that sometimes we are on auto pilot , I nearly messed up

  • +3

For eBay the highest rate is ShopBack Tech Swap with 2.5%, it also includes The Good Guys, JB Hi-Fi, Catch, Bing Lee and Streamotion (it's a Prezzee card).

On the topic of eBay GCs, what's going on with them? GCX just lost them, they were removed from Celebration Swap and have been gone from CR and SB for a long time now.

    • wow, that's getting worrying

  • I am unable to locate the Shopback Home card? Where is it?

    • Search for Home Swap in the GC section.

      • oh thats interesting, that works but when i dont the card when i click through the westpac deal. I hope its counted. i think my fault was searching for shopback home.

  • Cheers op , got a $30 super swap

  • Thanks OP. Got 7-11 for ⛽️ fuel

  • It's tricky always needing to choose the right payment card (Westpac or St George)… I'm sure some will mistakenly order with wrong card.

    • +2

I never leave money sitting in everyday transaction accounts, so no risk of a mistaken payment going through. There are far more logical places for money to be parked.

Transferring some $$ across when required takes minimal effort.

  • How much is ROI?

  • Thanks OP

  • any suggestions on opening new account with those 3 banks ?? which one is better ?? st grg, Bank SA or Melb bank

  • Does it qualify if we use cash back to pay for gift card?

    • Nope, at least $30 has to come out of the right card.

  • dang too late. 25 rewards remaining

  • Gone, 2000?
