      Join your union comrade

      • How

        • If you join your trade union usually you get access to good guys commercial and access some discounted gift cards with your membership.

    • Check your super account or you home/car insurance benefits. My commercial account is through Australian Retirement Trust.

    • FYI, it seems that tgg will match thier commercial prices!!??

My wife and I have both failed to join through unionshopper (most useless program I've experienced). We rang Good Guys to tell them to hold a vac at this price until we can get our account sorted. They just asked what price we were offered, and said they can match that. Sent a payment link via SMS, and our order is in the system. Done. (Still not tgg commercial members, and won't waste any more time now that I know it's not necessary.)

  • Does it deserve the price?

if you have a big house yes, if not i find it faster and easier to take a cordless vacuum or combo mop and do it myself.

    • If you’re after a robot vacuum with mopping I think this is probably the best at the moment. Empties its own dust container, does water changes and cleans and dries its own mop. Probably the closest to a fully automated hands-off floor cleaner so far. Though I don’t believe this one can be plumbed in.. so you still have to tip the dirty water out of the base station, refill the clean water and change the dust bag periodically.

      • +1

WIthout having any experience with robot vacs, I'd have picked this version anyway. I figure I'll change the water when I empty the dustbag.

Until they take the dustbag to the trash, I don't see the point in taking the automation any further.

        • My personal experience has been dust bag needs replacing every 3 months and water needs replacing up-to twice a week(A 2 person household but hosting friend groups frequently). Complaining from a position of privilege, but refilling the tank is messy splashing water on me and the machine is very common. I only have S8 Pro Ultra but would definitely wait for the plumbed version to show up(Surely it can't be too far from launching in Australia).

Honestly I've had such an enjoyable experience with the S7 MaxV. It gets stuck far less frequently compared to my other Ecovacs roomba.
I live in a relatively large 2 storey house with 2 double coated large dogs, and a baby.
There are toys scattered everywhere, and the MaxV does quite a good job at navigating and cleaning the house. The most annoying part about owning these is finding where they get stuck, how they got stuck and designing your house around them. So I highly value the better obstacle avoidance/detection rather than playing hide and seek with my roombas.
Since it saves me about 4hrs worth of cleaning per week, and I value my personal free time at a minimum of $20/hr then the robot would've repaid itself within 25 weeks.

      • I’ve found the ecovacs navigation and mapping an absolute pain. Constantly stuffs up its own map, loses my pre defined rooms etc… very buggy

Does anyone have this and can comment on whether its worth the extra few hundred over other models like the S8 ultra or Qrevo?

    • I have the same question… I was close to getting the Omni X2 but heard of a few issues.

Alternatively the DEEBOT T30 PRO OMNI which has higher suction at 11000pa.

Both Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra and DEEBOT T30 Pro Omni are new so not sure if they’ll be much feedback yet

      • +1

        @SUNLIKESABARGIN
T30 Pro omni mop pads do have more reach than S8,According to videos.

Check vacuum wars on YouTube.. the reviews are pretty thorough.

i have one… came from the S5… and I have to say, I didn't expect to love it as much as I do to be honest.
From the S5 I always loved it's mapping capability, but obstacle avoidance was always a pain. This thing is freaken amazing in comparison. I'm not going to say it's perfect, but jezz I've been surprised by how well it's navigated around missed things like charging cables and toys and whatnot we have. I can't remember the precise differences, but I believe the obstacle avoidance on this is much improved over the S8 (no cameras) and even the new QRevo Max V(which I think does have cameras, but are worse?

Cleaning wise, it's great. We have an 11 month old who's learning to 'eat' and leaves a mess every night in the kitchen, so it's great when it's bathtime I'm like 'hey google' clean the kitchen' and it goes and vacuums and mops. It also does a great job of getting right to the edge I think.

I'm a fan, and I really didn't expect such a big jump from the S5.

  • I've pulled the trigger on this have a look at the"Just a Dad" reviews. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCS-sk6Bpjsmq1TBM_ir-q5w

It's the best around at the moment. The closest equivalent is the Dreame X40 which isn't available in Aus

    • -3

I didn't even look at your link, but it's debateable whether X40 is better than this, so I call bs on whatever you're recommending.

  • Aaaargh!!! DOA!! Picked mine up this evening, got home, set it up and did the return to home thing. Robot spun. Round in circles and gave me a wheel jammed error. The one wheel is stuck solid will not turn. Back to good guys in the morning.

    • Dang. I have a 3 hour round trip to pickup, do not want to be returning!

    • I had exactly the same issue with my S8 pro ultra. Wheel jammed. Contacted roborock support but they are so slow and wanted to send the vacuum to them for assessment and repair. Was just easier to take it back to jbhifi and get a replacement. Touch wood this one is working ok

  • Looks like the price has been reduced again - showing 2177 at the moment.

    • dang. My wife rang good guys who were happy to price match thier commercial site!!?? They just asked what price … I actually made a mistake and said $2318 so gave them $5 too much even without the new price.

I should have checked back here first :(

      • Hi! Did your wife ring a local branch or the 1300 number? I tried the 1300 chat but they said they don't price match tgg commercial. 🙁

        • +1

I rang the local branch and managed to get them to price match commercial @ 2313

        • local branch

    • damn looks like back to $2313

  • Might take the plunge, anyone have any opinions on extended warranty for Robot Vac's? I don't normally consider it but now im thinking i can get JB to price match and get their extended warranty (but its $450) and makes it a 5 year warranty all up which covers wear and tear failures.

    • Our Consumer Laws should cover all for a reasonable number of years tbh. I would say 5 years atleast if you are spending more than $2k for a product. Extended warranties offer no extra benefits tbh if it is just about product breaking.

  • Thanks, just bought 1!

  • JB-Hifi business has it listed for $2563.72

    $2,248.50 here, free shipping

    Purchased for $2048 from TGG!

Went into store and they price matched mobileciti ($2248)! Sale rep offered additional $200 off of I ported my mobile over to a casual $52 plan, figured why not! Will port back out to my cheap $25 pre paid plan in a few days! WIN

    • Port failed so they cancelled the request and my no. remains on prepaid. I shall leave it unfulfilled as the $200 discount is already processed!

      • So good! Looking for a deal on this now and mobileciti is sold out.

        • Mobileciti stock always fluctuated between no stock and two remaining, I feel it’s a web issue as I wanted stock on hand when price matching at TGG. So keep a close eye, then rush to TGG or wherever your wanting to price match

      • +1

        Well done

    • Hey is it possible to share your receipt? We can probably use it to get a price match, no?

  • +1

Does anybody have the current TGG commercial price? Going to try physical store so think it might be good to have the actual online price.

    • Same. Was hoping to get a receipt from anyone or even a price screenshot might work. Kindly let me know if you get anything. Thanks in advance.

      • I can screen shot it. I went to chaddy the other day tgg and got one they matched it but asked to see the site.

        • They didn't accept the screenshot? Let me call my local store!

Can you share the screenshot in the meantime, please?

          • @UWK: Just tried to, I dont think I can post pictures. Just go in and tell them to price match it. Hate when stores kick up such a fuss.

            • +1

@cs0001: Thanks for trying mate. Yeh thinking about doing just that. Will keep you posted if it works.

              • @UWK: Went to TGG , they were like we don't have access to the commercial since it's different division. If you can show it, we will match it. So I bought G'day Rewards and signed up for commercial and showed them and they price matched. In short had to spend 50$ extra .

                • @UWK: Either way thats a good outcome. But a load of shit they dont have access, stores are a pain sometimes arent they.

                  • @cs0001: Hello, I'm a TGGC account manager and I can confirm our retail stores don't have access/cannot view our commercial pricing.

  • Called several JB’s, no one would match TGGC price over the phone. Just so happened to be near a JB on the weekend, walked in, displayed the price on my phone, they matched without blinking. I think it’s a bit of luck of the drawer.

  • Anyone willing to share their TGGC account with me to buy this robo vac price matched in store for a fee?

  • Anyone know if this price is still active? Might try my luck on a price match before EOFY.

    • Did you find out?

      • No, however I asked JB to price match and got close. I would have needed to drive for 35 minutes to get to the nearest one in stock with TGG so gave it a shot and it worked out. Seems like they're happy to move on this so worth a shot.

  • Is this price at TGG commercial still active?

    • its still online as of 10pm tonight

  • Just wanted to check if this price is still the same on TGG Commercial and if so any chance someone can take a picture for me as i can get it price matched but need to show evidence and i don't have access. Thanks

  • No longer active
