Adding Ambulance Victoria Membership to Service Victoria App Wallet

Received a notification in Service Victoria App last night about adding Ambulance Victoria membership into its wallet. My wife and I are already a member of Ambulance Victoria but I couldn't find a way to add it to the Service Victoria wallet. Has anyone managed to do it? If so, please share your steps. Thanks!

  • How much is it btw? I pay for Bupa ambulance only and it's like, 55.19 a year.

Does that cover emergency only or all forms of medical transport?

    • $51.94

Check the fine print when you have a moment, as some health cover ambulance coverage only covers you if you are admitted into hospital!! Not admitted, but had a ambulance called, you get a bill!

For example, an Ambulance Victoria Membership is ~$52/single or $104/family.

        Medibank cover them.

Medibank ambulance cover has exclusions. Best just to get coverage directly with state ambulance provider to cover all bases.

            So #jvlied yet again!?

        • Medibank cover them.

          You sure about that?

          • @JimmyF:

            You sure about that?

            Yes

"If you have Hospital, Extras, or standalone Ambulance cover with Medibank, you’re covered for ambulance services."

            • @jv:

You used an ambulance for either of these two reasons: a) transportation to a hospital or other approved facility to receive immediate professional attention because your medical condition prevented you being transported another way OR b) immediate professional attention, but you didn't need transportation to a hospital by ambulance.

Looking at the claim process, so what do they define "immediate professional attention" as?

It sounds like the standard, ambulance was called as grandma fell over, but didn't need treatment so here is the bill clauses still apply.

              • @JimmyF:

ambulance was called as grandma fell over,

pensioners don't need to get ambulance cover, they are already covered.

Settle down. You don't have to be a pensioner to be a grandma!

You didn't answer the question, what is "immediate professional attention"?

Launch the app, select My Wallet at the bottom, and fill in the details.

  • My Wallet is the key. You can put your Vic drivers licence in there too.

  • Don't think you can do it. You can only purcahse a membership through the Services Victoria app.

    • Agree with this. Tried it earlier in the week and it was just trying to sell me a new membership.

    • Thanks for the info. (I kept thinking there was a way to add existing membership into the wallet.)
