Save 15c/L on Fuel by Spending $100+ at Woolworths from Now until Sunday

170

This is a lot more attractive than the 20c/L offer in the current catalogue (spend $100+ on selected gift cards) as you don't have to purchase gift cards at RRP. Woolies often has them discounted for 20% off, so you're going to be better off with a slightly lower fuel discount and waiting for those gift cards to be on sale again.

As always check ACCC graphs, MotorMouth etc. to find the best time to fill up in your area. If you're in Melbourne it's a great time to fill up as prices are currently cheaper than they've been for quite a few months.

Standard spiel: ^To save 15c per litre on fuel at CALTEX WOOLWORTHS co-branded outlets, simply spend $100 or more in a single transaction (no transaction splitting is permitted at point of sale) at Woolworths Supermarkets from Friday 16th November 2012 until Sunday 18th November 2012 and surrender your fuel saving docket or present your Everyday Rewards card (not applicable in Tasmania) at any CALTEX WOOLWORTHS co-branded fuel outlet. Offer not available at Woolworths Liquor / BWS or CALTEX WOOLWORTHS outlets. Fuel discount valid for 28 days after purchase. Discounts not available on purchases of LPG at designated CALTEX WOOLWORTHS co-branded outlets or on any Caltex Starcard purchases. Woolworths Limited reserves the right to at any time suspend or terminate this offer. Regular fuel discount docket conditions apply. Purchases of Gift Cards (including iTunes cards) do not contribute to the qualifying amount. “Smoking/Tobacco product” purchases in New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania and Australian Capital Territory are excluded from qualifying amount by law.

  • just a q but when has woolworths ever had 20% off gift cards?

  • Purchases of Gift Cards (including iTunes cards) do not contribute to the qualifying amount.

    • Yep that's standard for Woolies fuel offers, the 20c/L offer being an exception..

  • By my calcs, assuming a 70L tank, this is worth about $10.

    • A bit less given there's always a minimum 4c/L offer at any time (so 70l x 11c = $7.70).

    • -2

It always amuses me when I see people lining up at a Woolies servo. I'm happy to pay the (usual) 4c/l more to now have to wait 10 minutes to save $1.60.

I know… not very Ozbargain of me… but the advantage is with my loyalty not directed as a pitiful petrol saving I'm free to shope where ever the biggest bargains are :)

  • "no transaction splitting is permitted at point of sale"

What does this mean? That I can't put half my groceries on the belt and ask to pay after $100 and then the next lot? How do they police that?

    • Obviously as punishment they'll start covering your groceries with all the leftover pallets of sticky specials until every inch is covered in barcodes.

    • If you're planning on spending $200 you'd have to buy the first $100, go through the checkout, then go back and buy the rest.

  • Does PayWave work with exactly $100? Could a super OzBargainer then structure their purchases to stack this with the ING 5% rebate?

    • No. Only works up to $99.99. Best option would be to buy giftcards first.

  • Saw this on tv!

  • Thanks for the ACCC link, had been wondering what was trend data but had only known Motormouth.

Also, If you're carrying those 4c [= ~2.857%] discounts on your EDR (Everyday rewards card) don't forget their Mobile recharge until 30 Dec, allows approx 11.27 litres ULP worth uncharged per $2 sim+$26.10 voucher pickup. Pouring a 12L 'top up', would achieve nearly a 100 percent discount (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/84219) /IOW - $15 off fuel with sim phone voucher purchase.

I have not seen more data offered for $13.1 so am looking forward to (re)try the transaction.

  • I bought some stuff @ Coles around $60+ and got a 14c/L voucher(will confirm again tonight)
