This deal on the fixed head set is available again.

I think $69 is about as low as they get, but happy to be corrected.

  • $69? Niiice. Ordered.

  • Nice, also purchased. Can never not have a decent set of spanners

  • What's better? Happy to spend the extra $30 if it's worth it. This or this

    • Guessing similar quality, but the one in your link has more sizes.

    • The one you linked to has another 4 spanners (20, 21, 22 and 24mm) and is chrome plated rather than the black finish. Same brand, guessing the same quality.

    • The second set is much better. Have both, hate the first set as dirt/oil just stick to them

    • cheers, the black set does look better but the set from total tools does look like better value

      • +1

They look good but are terrible for dirt oil and grease sticking to them. Mine sit in toolbox on ute and they always get filthy and are hard to clean. Hard to see sizes on the black ones also

        • cheers, will buy the chrome set from total tools

  • +1

Got these 2 years ago for same price. They are OK for the price. They are not offset so can make it hard to use with limited access, the finish on these is not great dirt and oil just stick to them and slowly starting to rust. For light use they are OK but I avoid using them and settle for the offset reversible kincrome or gearwrench set. If they are out of your price range the 16 piece chrome finish https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/846835 are a much better buy at $99

    • by offset reversible, do you mean this set?

      • Yes I have the gearwrench metric of those and they are great, The kincrome https://www.kincrome.com.au/gear-spanner-sets/reversible-gea… are great too but are pricey and rarely discounted. I have 2/3 sets of each and have yet to break one. The bunnings craftright ones on the other hand are fine for very light use but I have snapped several of them and destroyed the gears in most.
Have started using gearwrench stuff the past couple of years as there have been a few good deals and they are great tools.
I am a farmer so tools get heavy use and a hard life.

        • Best to break your nuts with a fixed head spanner first, then use the ratchet to back them out… Can be expensive, esp if your most commonly used ratchet spanner ends up notchy/busted in every set.

  • I bought a similar one from bunnings before: https://www.bunnings.com.au/craftright-16-piece-spanner-set_…

Problem for me is it always took me a lot of time to find out the correct one, so the effort of trying one after another really washed my patience away, so I'd prefer an adjustable wrench. Perhaps it's a different story to an experienced guy. Another problem is the spanner got loose easily and came off from the protector, so often spread everywhere in my box. Hope this one better.

    • Adjustable wrench is OK for not-so-tight bolts, but they have a bit of play and I find they will slip more easily for tighter bolts.
