WTF has happened to pricing of physical media, these were selling for $14-15 prior to covid. Vinyls were at most $28 for new albums, now I'm seeing 'deals' for Vinyls at $49.
Same thing with any other product during covid, they found the prices that people were willing to pay. It also didn't help that the collectible goods concept got a lot of attention in recent years as well.
Bullcrap. It's artificial pricing because we're being pushed to streaming, eg: Disney not releasing 4k to Australia, forcing Disney plus on us instead
Studios want everyone on their streaming platforms, so some studios like Disney have stop supplying to Australia (Gardians of the Galaxy 3 was the last title), that and with the Aussie dollar at the moment people like myself who like physical media are now paying a premium. Typically, discs from Amazon are from UK or Usa and are about $55 or more, so when one is posted for less than $40 , it feels like a bargain. Some sites have popped up locally selling 4k and Blu-rays (deadenddvd outrundvd and Zavvi.com.au are shipping discs again, but they are also pricey. Jb gets some of the new titles and reissues, but others never seem to appear, but it's often well after it's been released overseas. I am waiting to see if Twister is getting an Au re release, otherwise Ill order it elsewhere.
now please compare to the streaming prices. how much was netflix a few years ago? and disney+?

Pre ordered it a month before the release - missed the first batch and didn’t get it until early January.
I paid just over $100 through Amazon, my logic at the time was that I may not be able to get it at a later date…. I've since seen it for $50-$60 and as low as $25

If this isn’t for you then move along it’s pretty clear. There’s obviously a tonne of people who wait for this sort of stuff in 4k and not pixelated streaming.
