[SA] Whole Goat, Cut up in Bulk $99 Pickup @ South Aussie with Cosi

420

For only $99. Yup $99 you get a whole Free-Range Goat sourced from all across South Australia, cut up in bulk ready to fill your freezer. Numbers will be limited, so it’s first in best dressed and we apologise to anyone who misses out on this sale!!!

Here’s what you will receive:

  • Back legs in halves giving you four roasts on the bone
  • Loin chops for stews and slow cooking and two shanks
  • The rest cut up into curry size pieces on the bone (perfect for low and slow cooking)
  • Plus any leftover offcuts

YOU GET THE LOT FOR $99.

Afterpay is now available for those who would like to use it for this too!

Please note delivery is impossible at these prices. You will have a week window to collect your goat (YOU WILL BE NOTIFIED WITHIN 7 DAYS OF YOUR ORDER). Collection will be from a butcher store in Campbelltown, Gepps Cross or Woodside and you will be allocated one of these locations.

People are collecting goats in groups each week and you will be notified of what your collection dates are and what group you are in. Please be patient, as depending on what group number you are it might be a couple of weeks before you are notified to collect your goat.

Please do not head into the butcher’s shops prior to receiving the instructions email. From your time of purchase, we anticipate that all of you will have collected your goats within 3 weeks.

For those who have cooked goat before, you know just how yummy the meat is, for those who haven’t you need to do your research to choose recipes that are suited to goat, as you need to cook it differently to lamb. LOW AND SLOW cooking makes for melt in your mouth goat meals.

We have had a lot of emails from people in regional SA who are asking us can we deliver, which at this point and price, sadly we can’t. BUT at $99 we suggest you ask around your workplace, neighbours and family and then one of you put in an order for all the goats and send one person down to collect the lot and distribute back home. We are seeing more and more regional SA people doing this.

We are delighted to yet again be supporting local SA farmers, Local SA butchers and most importantly provide you guys a source of meat that you can buy without breaking the bank.

This is probably a good deal but that Cosi is a huge (profanity)

    • Yeah, I'm not a fan either. I have no idea why he hasn't been cancelled and/or divorced. But that aside, not a bad deal to fill the freezer.

    • I never really got why he still exists. Maybe the unwashed masses of South Australia still love him?

    • +1

Absolutely agree. Andrew Costello ('Cosi') is a huge f#ckhead. I never understood how or why he 'emerged' onto the scene, let alone how he managed to remain there. Everything he has ever said and done is totally irrelevant to everybody. The quicker he gets out of the public eye, the better off the public will be. Companies/businesses should be aware that having any sort of affiliation with this waste of space is going to be counterproductive.

    Wish they had Victoria equivalent…

    • +12

I think Avi Yemini would be the Victorian equivalent of Cosi

      • +4

He's talking about the goat meat/whole butchered goats. No one wants a 'Victorian equivalent of Cosi'.

        • Dan Andrews is the GOAT

          • +6

@Bruceflix: There is only one person in the entire world worse than 'Cosi'; and that is Dan Andrews. Dan Andrews plunged Victoria into a level of debt that will take generations to pay off; and much of that debt is owed for things that never ultimately even happened (roads, Commonwealth Games, etc.). It was utterly baffling how he kept on getting voted back in, despite being such a monumental f#ck up.

            • @GnarlyKnuckles: Sheett do you want his fanboiz to send police to your door coz of this post? They didn't spread the pregnant nor elderly

            • @GnarlyKnuckles: The scary part is that he would have won another election, what’s even scarier is the% of voters who vote green in the CBD

    • Tasman butchers has goat casserole pieces on sale this week for 7.99/KG

      https://tasmanbutchers.com.au/

      • Looking at the pic though, those 'casserole pieces' appear to be mostly bone, gristle, and fat. I can't see much actual meat there at all :(

        • +1

Yeah don't ever make the mistake of buying casserole pieces.

$1 / kilo is too much

The rest cut up into curry size pieces on the bone (perfect for low and slow cooking)

Salivating! Goat is my favourite for tasty curries.

That's almost the price of just 1 side of goat in Brisbane, or $15-24/kg for cut up on the bone for curries.

Used to keep a goat in the large
    garden in Norwood years ago🐐

Better move back to SA - for the food!

    • +2

Norwood doesn't have large gardens anymore. 2 townhouses now populate that garden. Goats possibly liking the finer things.

      • Oh I know!
100yr old bluestone house on 1/2 acre. Almost half of that was fruit trees. 1.5 blocks from old Norwood Town Hall.
Developer let me stay free, until the bulldozer arrived.
Turned into at least 4 townhouses… Long ago

I'm the only person in my house who'll eat it.

    Cosi is a flog

    • why?

      • A huge number of people who meet him in real life have stories of him acting like a (profanity). Either trying to get stuff for free, or being a sleaze, or even just being rude. And this persona he has of looking out for SA stuff seems to always end up making him money. Often whilst grifting a discount or free stuff from others under the "do it for SA" mantra.

  • Any deals like this in Victoria?

  • Dayum I wouldve got 10 at this rate if it was in WA

    • $150 a goat in Wanneroo WA

      • Farm raised or wild ? Where abouts

  • +2

Anyone bought and received from this merchant prior?

How heavy/ big is the goat? (Kg)
Was the meat parts well separated & packaged well?

Any idea how old the goat is when they are butchered?
The older the goat - the harder to cook/ chewier the meat.

Can’t find any of these info at the merchants online site.

    • +2

Hi, I too had similar burning questions. From a previous FB post, this is what i found:
A whole South Aussie Rangeland goat weighing 30-40 kg live weight, meaning the dressed weight you’ll walk out with will be 13-17kilos of meat.
      - Back legs cut up as two yummy leg roasts
      - Two loin racks
      - The rest cut up into small curry size pieces
      - Plus any left over scraps for your pet

Thanks OP for reminding me it is time to start the monthly Cosi hate thread on the Adelaide subreddit!

    • +1

Never heard of this guy. Why all the hate?

      • +1

Hearsay mostly. I've never had a bad interaction with him. Guy promotes business, gets paid to do it so I think people have an issue with that. He is a one man marketing machine and doesn't turn down a chance to get in TV. A few alleged creep allegations. Has a weekly show. Bit of a dose of tall poppy syndrome I think. I'm sure there is some truth or somewhere half way.

        • +1

          Found cosi's account

          • @heineken016: I've met the bloke a few times at events. Could not have been nicer. I see the stuff in adl reddit but seriously, he would not be in the position he is in if once of the accusations stuck, which none of it has. I think the Govt funding for his farm etc is an absolute joke but he plays the game and is getting a return. The ole English saying of don't hate the player, hate the game.

I prefer evidence than hearsay with this ish. Especially with Adelaide.

        • Have read many a creep stories about this guy. I'd take a few of them with a grain of salt but there's plenty

a whole Free-Range Goat sourced from all across South Australia

    That does sound pretty free-range

    • +3

      Aka feral goat..

      • +2

If these are feral goats, then this is absolutely the most ethical/environmentally friendly meat you could buy/eat. Like eating feral camel, or feral possum (from NooZulland).

  • Is "free range" like "feral"?

It might explain a thing or two to me….

  • Anazing

  • Surprized nobody negged this deal for not providing the average animal dressed weight so you had a clue what you were getting.

  • Surprisingly, It didn't ask about the contact details, not sure how will they contact us once it is ready for a pick up?

    • You sure? It asked for email and Phone number when I put an order in.
