TCL C755 85" 4K Mini LED Google TV $2771 + Free Delivery + $350 Gift Card @ The Good Guys (In-Store Only)

510

Goodguys have gone above and beyond the existing JB HIFI's 25% off TV & Subwoofer/soundbar deal, by offering 25% Off the TV alone. You don't have to buy an additional soundbar to get the discount.

This deal is in store only, 25% of RRP. In my case $2771 for 85 C755 RRP $3695.

In addition you also get $350 e-gift card via redemption to reduce the price further to $2421, which is a great price for a month old TV.

FYI, 25% discount is applicable to all TCL and other models including C855 as well.

      Done, thanks mate

  • Great deal. Shame the 855 isn't included with the promo.

    • +2

It is mate, I was offered the same discount on 855 as well.

Hows this as compared to 855

      • +1

Cant see much in terms of specs, and no reviews on 855

        • Check c805 (model name of c755 in Europe) if you're having issues finding specs or reviews.

c845 has 2000 nits brightness vs c755 1500 nits brightness and less dimming zones. The c855 has apparently 3000 nits max brightness but I'd wait for legit reviews. There's obviously a lot more than that in terms of differences.

          • +3

@TEER3X: C755 is slightly better than C845, although less nits on specs. C755 has new panel which has better reflection, less blooming, slightly more black and clearer picture. C755 Australian model has different specs from C805 in Europe. C755 85 inch vs C845 85 inch has similar dimming zones, 880 vs 896.

C855 is definitely big upgrade from C845 or C755. C855 has deeper black, vibrant colour, less glooming and less reflection.

I saw all of them at store and can see the differences.

            • @freaksportz: Ugh, I might have to go into store today and have a look. Coming from a 2014 Samsung anything is an upgrade, but I'm wondering if the current price deal difference is worth it.

Nice. That's a decent deal. Personally, I'd still spend the extra for a Sony 85" x90L from eBay Sony Seconds store for $2839.

    • Why? Just brand or any better

      • Just brand…. that a sony is a full array tv not a mini-led tv.

        • What? They're both FALD, mini-led allows a TV to do FALD better.

Sony's video processing is what makes their tv's good.

          • @krisspy: You really have to go in store and do a check. You can judge for yourself to which is better. Mini led tv theocratically is a higher tier than fald tv.

I own a oled tv. Will go for TCL mini led 85” as the second tv in a couple of years.

            • +2

@ChickenAdobo: You keep mentioning FALD as if it's a type of backlighting…its not, it's how the backlighting is controlled.

X90l and C845 are both FALD, ie. They can turn off spots on the backlighting to control blooming and get better black levels.

Sony uses typical led for backlighting
TCL uses mini LEDs for backlighting
This means tcl has alot more zones it can turn off to improve black levels.

Like I said, Sony has really good image processing, hence why the x90l rates higher from most reputable reviewers than the C845, even though the C845 uses newer tech.

Only if you’re a videophile. My parents have the C845 and the motion has some bad judder, particularly on stop motion and 2D animated films, so you have to turn on some smoothing. The colours are super bright but don’t seem as accurate or as pleasing as the Sony’s. Check out HDTVTest review of the x90L on YouTube.

The TCL c845 does have a faster UI and CPU than the Sony x90L. I had to get a seperate apple tv for mine, the inbuilt system was too slow.

        • According to Reddit, Turn ON motion enhancement set judder reduction to 4.

Never had issues with mine, I just change the picture settings as needed to Sport, game, movie,
or whatever looks best. Obviously not expert calibration with those settings but good enough for me.

ETA, just realised you basically already mentioned turning on smoothing

          • +1

@TEER3X: Yeah my parents don't mind the smoothing but I can't stand it.

            • @spiderbite88: It’s not consistent, that’s the issue with fake smoothing. So obvious when it’s doing it.

Sony's technology is too old compared to TCL.

      • And their after sales support sucks hard.

        • Yea I used to work for TGG, TCL support is a pain to deal with.

      • What are you smoking?

  • $350 e-gift

Store cash or like a cash card?

    • It's good guys gift card.

      • Beware short expiry on those cards

Why would anyone want a mini TV?

      Jv ghost account?

    • +2

At least be specific, a Mini LED TV

      jv's disappointed in you

  • What's the difference between the C755 and C845? I tried but friends Google but couldn't find a decent comparison site

  • Hi which store did you buy?

    • McGregor in QLD

  • Can comfirm thats in store deal which is very good, the store seller didnt even know that till I ask the guy after he type the model in the "phone"and told me he can do 25%off

  • +1

Thanks @sumy08. The Deal worked apart from the eGiftcard which i couldn't redeem at purchase, where i needed to claim online after the purchase is complete. Any ways it is still good dela as I also made the payment trough gift cards where i received an additional 4.5% discount. So, after all discounts (Including Gift card Purchase and $350e Gift card) the total came upto $2296. This price is great for a New model TV with Mini Led. Thanks once again for posting

  • Haven’t seen any discount?

  • I went to the Good Guys store at Warrawong (NSW) today and the salesman said that deal is not in their system but they can match the JB Hi-Fi 25% off TVs with a soundbar deal. Should I try again tomorrow and tell them that other Good Guys stores are doing it? I'm planning on buying the 85" C855. Good Guys will take two weeks for the TV to be delivered while JB Hi-Fi said they can have it delivered in less than a week. JB Hi-Fi has a cheaper price for the wall mount installation than Good Guys. The 85" C855 comes with a $500 eGift card at Good Guys but I want to get that $500 off the TV before paying for it instead of waiting after purchase to redeem it.

  • Could you please share a receipt for the TV alone?
TGG only willing to match the soundbar deal.

  • Went to the Good Guys this arvo as my Hisense 50P6 shit itself after ~5 years 😠

They took 20% off a TCL C655 50" when I asked what was the best price they could do with minimal haggling.

Got crazy deal with 98" c745 at jbhifi.. Scored it for $2774 with a Soundbar..then after 2 days went back when 25% offer with sound bar was finished to get the TV wall mounted..and got that for just $100 but had to buy a TV bracket which costed $99 after using $10 perk..and over this also got a $500 gift voucher which is the current offer going on..so damm lucky to get all this..so if I sell the soundbar for even $200..final cost will be $2774+199-200-500= $2273..pretty damm happyyyyy 😉

    • Can you share a receipt please? Need to get something similar
