      • 2 transactions : 2 cards , 3 cards

        • Interesting, in that case I suspect only 1 or 2 cards in a single transaction get you the 2000 pts successfully. Waiting for more data pts from others who did 5x1 cards transactions.

      • I bought 5 gift cards, 1 in first transaction and 4 in second transaction, and only got 2000 bonus points. Rest of my family bought 5 all in one go, and didn't get any bonus points.

        • Yeah apparently 1 card x 5 transactions you the full 10000 pts

  • I also only got standard points and made two purchases yesterday, one on my account and one on partners. I was expecting points today as I’m keep to make an international flight booking and short the exact amount of points I was expecting. Ggrrrrr why why!!
My gift card points always come the same time as normal points, even on Monday this week when I purchased an Apple Card.

  • Bought 5x$100 GCs across 3 FB accts yesterday…only the base points have posted, not the bonus points…annoying! Hope it autofixes without the need to contact FBs!

  • +1

I purchased 2 lots of 5 yesterday on different FB accounts, bonus points not showing yet. Used to pay Land Tax bill without any issues.

    • Rich people get richer, if I have land tax to pay to start with

  • +1

No one mentioned it has to be seperate transactions or am i missed something? I made 2 separate transactions one is $420 and one is $105 and Fybuy combined credit +525 points and only +2000 bonus points

    • Points just updated with +8000

  • Same like others, only 525 points per account

  • Same, no bonus points yet.

  • Same to me, only 525 points per account

  • The bonus points have not showed up on my account too.

  • I'm in the same boat. My 525 base points have landed but not the bonus points.
Give it another 24 hours and they should arrive in your account.
The same thing happened to my Apple Gift Card 20x Flybuys bonus points last week. Purchased early Wednesday morning, bonus points arrived late Friday night.

  • can someone pls clarify, how these used to pay ATO. I mean is there are 5 separate coles cards, ATO portal allows you to pay multiple of $100 in transactions? I have abt 1500 to pay ATO in next week.

    • +1

You can choose how much to pay on the payment screen, just make sure you account for the surcharge. For $100 card, enter payment of $99.55, it will calculate the surcharge as $0.45 and total payment amount being $100.
Complete the payment and repeat as many times as you like depending on how many cards you have.

      • understood thanks.

So all in all if I buy 5 of these cards (5 * $100), I pay $525 (105 * 5) at checkout get cards worth of $500. I get $50 worth of flybuys dollars. So its profit of $25 ( 525-50).

If paying above, surcharge on all cards would be (0.45 * 5) = 2.25. That makes final savings of 22.75 (25-2.25). I only have 1 FB account so that's the max i could get.

        • +2

          Your maths is correct.

Reminder that you will also receive 525 (approx $2.63 FB dollars worth) normal Flybuys points for purchasing 5 cards, so technically your savings is approx $22.75 + $2.63 = $25.38

  • Does anyone know how to pay QLD car registration with these $100 cards?

  • +3

I called the call centre this morning and they are aware of the issue and said they cant manually add the points, but they will look into it likely to update ppls account's next week

    • Thanks for posting this, so does this mean there is nothing they can do at this moment and anyone ddin't get the bonus points need to wait till next week?

      • yep they are fixing this at the moment and we should get our points sometime next week

      • Yep, there's nothing front line staff can do at this stage, so just hang in there, but annoying as I wanted those points now so then I can transfer them as part of the 15% autotransfer or 5% manual transfer to Velocity promo

        • +1

I'm on the same boat. Possibly will need to transfer what is now without those bonus points to hit my account.

    • +3

I just had more points come through now.

      • Same. I received the bonus points just after 4pm today, purchase was Wednesday afternoon. The transaction details haven't appeared in the activity tab in the app yet, WookieMonster said that happens after 6pm.

        • I can now see details from my Coles Mastercard gift card purchase from yesterday in the activity tab.

I think it is safe to say the activity tab updates around 5:45pm Sydney/Melbourne time.

  • +1

I got all bonus points in my account. No issue.

However, checking the design of transactions under my FB account is very poor.

  • I have bought 5 with a flybuys account but the bonus points haven't come through. Do they normally come after the points for the transaction itself?

  • Hi can someone please clarify whether we need 5 separate transaction meaning 5x2000 points or can we buy 5 cards in 1 transaction to get full total 10000 bonus points? Thank you

    • Buy 5 cards in 1 transaction, you will get 525 FB points plus 10000 bonus points.

    • +1

Either way works. It doesn't matter how many transactions you split it across, as long as you don't buy more than 5 per Flybuys card.

  • Wondering why they bother keep having a promo and not have enough stock in partic of the $100 ones…found a handful on the first day in Sydney but nada since…anyone seen any in Sydney in the last couple of days? Was in Cairns over the WE and nada there too…

  • looks like cards are being restocked - our coles had ~10 $100 cards half an hour ago (there were not there yesterday)

    • which coles?

      • Noble Park, but that was yesterday

    • Also pleasantly surprised to see $100 restocked on the gift card stand when I popped in after work (around 6pm) to try my luck. Got another 3 to make up 5 per FB account!

  • I just had a funny encounter with one of these cards and the low quality of the card number printing that I thought I'd share.

I opened a $100 card and attempted to use it online but was getting a "card number not valid error" while checking out.

I went through all the usual troubleshooting, tried checking the balance on the website and through the telephone IVR but kept getting this invalid number error. Eventually I called the contact centre where they asked for the card number and asked for the card serial number also. I didn't think much of them asking for the serial because they usually do when there's an enquiry or issue with the cards.

CSR advised that the card was activate and showing up fine on their end but what they wouldn't confirm is if I had given them the correct card number or not as I had suspicion that one of the characters I was reading wasn't correct. They just responded that they couldn't confirm or deny. They advised that I attempt to use the card in store and if it still didn't work, then they would issue a replacement. I went down to Woolworths and processed a transaction in store which worked just fine.

Came home and tried to use it online again thinking maybe it's "properly activated now" but it still wouldn't work. Frustrated at what was going on with this card, I was sitting and thinking why would it work in store but not online.

I tried a few different websites but the invalid card number error kept appearing as soon as I typed the number in. Eventually the penny dropped that the "card number invalid error" meant that the card number I was typing in wasn't satisfying the Luhn algorithm.

Because the numbers aren't printed particularly sharply and it was also positioned directly on top of the bow in the card design which is almost the same colour as the text I was obviously misreading and therefore incorrectly entering the card number. (It was the 11th of the 16 card numbers).

Since I was very confident on 15 of the 16 numbers I ended up using a Luhn algorithm check tool online and effectively brute forced the number in that position until it satisfied the calculation.

Here's a picture of the card number set where I made the error - See what numbers you think it reads?

That is a wall of text to say you typed in the card number wrong…

    • You could almost wager that design is intentially for making these more profitable, and is plausibly deniable.
Now that you've posted those digits online, spend it quickly as the first half of them is pretty much a given.

      • If you can work out the remaining 12 numbers from just 4 numbers of a credit card, then all the current credit card storage systems are doomed. They usually store the last 4 for record tracking.

        • That generalisation doesn't work, as in this instance the first half being pretty much a given, plus the 4 posted, only leaves 4. These 4 must comply with the checksum, so further greatly reduces remaining valid combinations of those last 4 digits.

  • Bought five cards. My local store never hung the Flybuys bonus special banner above the cards, so I had to double check the offer was available in SA. It is, and the points are in my account.

Used the cards to pay my council rates. 'Free' $25. Nice.

  • Has anyone used these on Auspost? I was trying to pay my rego via austpostbill, however for the life of me just couldnt get it to work. I checked the balance as well, its still showing the full value.

I tried selecting both credit and debit options but none of them work. Anyone knows anything about this?

    • I tried at an actual PO - split playment but no option worked. The lady let me try all 3 options - cheque, savings, credit. A few years ago I definitely did the same at a PO and it worked. They must’ve removed this now.
