    • 1) How is Android tablet any different?

      2) are you 100% sure for Perth to Sydney flight?

      • Regarding one, it is possible with Samsung devices. I've been able to set media output to multiple devices on my last two Samsung phones.

I don't think all Android manufacturers allow you to do this.

No, 'Virgin' airline will give you absolutely nothing for free in economy class. That is their 'business model'.

I think you need to do your research because you are absolutely wrong and they do offer free in economy entertainment.

      Incorrect info here.
You can use the entertainment app for free in economy.

For Apple they limit that fuctionality to only Airpods and Beats, only Android have the ability to do it without such limit.

    • Apple is such a bully eh.. Guess I have to stick to wired headphones then

Yes, you can. I just did it on a MEL > SYD flight and watched a few episodes of Big Bang Theory.

They have movies and other shows, including Bluey for the kids.

    No app required.

Virgin don't use an app any more for entertainment; it's done via the browser

    • I can just imagine the number of times the cabin crew have had to explain to passengers that they needed to download the app before taking off and there's nothing they can do now.

      • Are yes, another reason first-poster thinks "Apple sucks". Apps can only be installed from the Apple store.

      • Didn't on my flights on Tuesday from MEL to SYD and back. They just said visit wifi.virginaustralia.com to access the Entertainment via the VirginAustralia WiFi network.

Yeah, them having to explain to passengers that the app has to be downloaded before takeoff must have been a big driver for them to transition to a browser-based system.

If you get stuck maybe have to go old school with a usb c to dual 3.5mm and use wired headphones

  • +3

You can get a 3.5mm bluetooth transmitter which supports dual devices. I've bought a cheapy off Amazon in the past for around $30. Pairing is a bit finicky but once its set up it works fine.

  • Apple will only bring this in as a ground breaking new feature :D

  • On another note, what's a good kid headphone?
