    Still has In-app purchases.

    • +4

I believe the in-app purchases were there even if you bought the app. It's for upscalling.

  • +1

Thanks OP! Downloaded and installed. But bummed that I missed the light show last night.

    • +1

      It’ll likely come back tonight!

      • Thank you! I hope so! I look forward to seeing it!

  • -2

    Still has IAP

  • Out of interest, what the use cases these apps are used for?

    • +13

Conning people into buying in app purchases

      • -1

        Exactly!

I wonder how many of OP's listed features and effects are actually an in-app purchase.
OP doesnt distinguish between whats included free and what constitutes an in-app purchase

The "most useful" features such as "Exposure Adjustment" and "Night Mode" are already standard on iPhone 11 and up anyway.
This app simply makes these features more accessible.

Hence whilst many of the lusted features are a "nice to have" its doubtful most people would ever make any use of them.
As I say, the main features most people would likely use are already part of the standard iPhone camera app.
One only needs to explore and learn to use the iPhone camera app.
Alternatively take a FREE Camera app course through Apple.

    • Taking long exposure photos such as the aurora

      • how long can you stretch the long exposure on this app? Vs the long exposure via built in camera on live photos?

        • +2

Thats not long exposure. I got excellent pictures of the Aurora last might just using night mode in the longest setting - the longest is 10 seconds handheld

          • @dealsucker: There is "long exposure" which allows you to expose the scene for longer to capture more light at night.
Then there is "night mode" where several photos are taken quickly in succession and then combined in order to Boost the light at night.

So "night mode" is simply an extension of "dynamic range"
However I dont see any "night Mode" in this app.

Night Mode is actually standard setting on iPhone 11 and later. (except SE models)
You dont need this app to get Night Mode.

            See here from Apple:
Use Night mode on your iPhone
On supported iPhone models, you can use Night mode to capture photos when the camera detects a low-light environment.
You can use Night mode with iPhone 11 and later.

Take low-light photos with Night mode
Night mode automatically turns on when the camera detects a low-light environment. The Night mode icon at the top of the display will turn yellow when the feature is active. Depending on how dark the scene is, your iPhone might take a Night mode photo quickly, or it might take several seconds. You can also adjust your exposure setting.

    • +1

Because its free, the OzB way

    • +1

Don't know this app specifically, but they used to give more control over the camera settings than the Apple camera app

  • +3

Northern lights in the southern hemisphere?

    • +1

Must be a pretty special camera

    • +13

The Aurora Borealis? At this time of year? At this time of day? In this part of the country? Localized entirely within your kitchen?

  • Thanks OP, nice find

  • +1

But the northern light finished before this offer came out. It’s pictures of toasters then.

    • Supposed to be there again tonight and morning? If you're lucky enough to live south then definitely look it up and then look up.

  • +1

How is this for taking normal pictures compared to regular iOS camera ?

    • You can take pictures of the Hamas Missiles with the need for IAPs

    • The camera is THE SAME!
The iPhone logic board and Bionic chip which governs photo quality is THE SAME.

Almost all the adjustments can be made in the iPhone camera app.
You just need to know where to look.
The adjustments that arent there - you would never use anyway.
Most people shoot in full auto mode anyway so makes no difference whatsoever using the ProCam 8 - Pro Camera app.

The ProCam 8 - Pro Camera app just presents you with a better interface if you want to act like a professional photographer and make certain micro adjustments. -
But who wants to do that when the iPhone camera takes such amazing photos?

I installed it, checked it out, then removed it. - waste of time!
Offers no improvement in my opinion.

  • Any free better apps for iPhone that are better then CapCut Thanks

    • CapCut is not a camera app.
Its a Video editing app and a very good one at that.
Best app for joining videos together seemlessly.
      And its FREE

  • Anyone used this app to take aurora pictures? What setting do you use?

    • Try using the standard Night Mode on your iPhone (11 and later)
It brings up the light beautifully

  • A tripod is more important than any app

  • -1

No offense, but Blackmagic Camera App is all you need

    • +1

Not if you’re taking photos. BMC is great for video and I use it a lot for that. For photos I’ll try this one out, but will likely stick with ProShot.

  • MANUAL CONTROLS
Manual exposure, shutter speed, ISO, focus, and white balance controls

Focus … how to manually control focus? Like with the good old twisting of the lenses picking what be on sharp focus and what not be.

  • Thanks OP! Night mode possiblity on this app?
