Rewards Credit Card Comparison Spreadsheet

Hi all,

I decided to revive this project from 2020.

I've changed the format to which it is displayed, however, as per the old one it is based upon the gift card value and earn rate for each credit card. Because of this, the comparison is useful for comparing your main credit card(s) value (not useful for those churning).

Key Information

  • Earn rate - the standard earn rate (point per $1 of spend), does not account for any bonus points for spend at certain shops.
  • Value GC - the value in dollars ($) of each point.
  • Earn x Value GC - Earn Rate multiplied by Value GC to show the best overall.

There are various sorting options, you can also use the custom option to filter by bank, annual fee, card type or any other value/combination of values.

Please comment any other cards you'd like to see added.

Thank you!
WYLSC.

  • Savvy cardholders select a currency and know the redemption value they'll achieve based on their annual spend. Currencies include and aren't limited to: QFF, Velocity, Amex Membership Rewards, ANZ Rewards, Westpac Altitude, Flybuys, Citi Rewards, Kogan Rewards, HSBC Rewards, Woolworths Everday Rewards.

  • Just to clarify, an "Earn X Value" of, say 0.006 means you earn 0.6c of a gift card value for every dollar you spend, ie spend $10,000 to earn a $60 GC reward?

Yes that’s correct. It’s useful to times by your annual spend and compare to the annual fee to see if you’re getting value from the card.

It's a good idea, especially when choosing a new card

Seems to be tailored more for those churning cards. This is designed for those comparing their main card and not churning.

if im not wrong, for coles rewards, the 3 points at coles is really just standard 2 points + 1 point flybuys which is standard even without the card

    • +1

It is giving you a bonus point per dollar as it is allowing you to stack the flybuys earn with standard credit card earn.

      • so on a $50 coles spend, assuming no flybuy special points offers etc, and using the coles card….. how many fly buys would i get?

        • On a $50 spend:

          Points From Coles Credit Card

          • 2x Points per dollar

          Points From Flybuys Card

          • 1x Point per dollar

Total Points Per Dollar @ Coles = 3 points per dollar

Therefore, on a $50 spend you’d get 150 flybuys points (100 points from your Coles credit card, 50 points from your flybuys card).

  • Hi WYLSC,

Is it possible to include or create a similar version for the travel insurance provided for these cards? With varying limits and excess, this would be of big help
