What does the shirt look like? How do I order my size

"size will be selected at random" lmao ok then

    • You may have XXXL or XXXXL at random

If it is cask strength, 50.2% for what appears to be an 11yo whisky is low enough to be suspicious about the quality of this. Then given the description that says it was a 'one-off experiment', and the significant discount as well as the extra merch to bolster sales, it seems safe to say it didn't work. Guessing the barrels were sub-par if they suffered that kind of %abv loss. One to give a wide berth, methinks

    • Yeah unfortunately most of the modern whiskies are going to this direction! It is still a bargain though compare to RRP, esp if you are modern Ardbeg fan

Ardbeg special releases, including the CRs have been dropping in ABV for decades. The reg ones are all 46% now. CRs will drop below 50 soon enough, or they keep it just above 50 so they can justify a "committee release".

Regular bottles of the annual releases were always over 50% ABV, except for Galileo. Alligator, supernova sn09/10, Ardbog etc. Perpetuum was the one that started the trend of going below 50, because LVMH told Dr Bill to dilute that shit for a larger outturn for the anniversary. Which coincided with Ardbegs turning to shit.

That's when I stopped buying Ardbegs, except for IBs. I have cases of Oogie and Corry from 2012, and most of the ones pre-perpetuum

        corry is still 57% no?

        • The core range of the 10, Corry and Oogie have remained the same. But the quality of their special releases were dropping so I went out and bought cases of the latter 2.

Similar to when I heard that Nikka was dropping age statements. That's why I have cases yoichi 15 and miya 12.

Same story with when Jim McEwan retired at Bruichladdich, Billy walker bought glenallachie, Caroni 17 was still available for under $200 etc I just go out and buy cases

      • I'd highly recommend you try BizarreBQ, if you haven't already. It's definitely one of the better recent releases. I bought Ardcore on special a while back, and only opened it recently. It's absolutely terrible, one of the worst Islay's I've ever had. I really like An Oa, but will get Corry when it's on special.

Nah I'm good. The only newish Arbeg I like is the 8yo For Discussion which I'm pretty sure is still available.

I wouldn't buy Arrrrrdcore just because of the stupid name.

@rosebank: Arrrrrrdcore is a ripper. One of my faves - don't let the name put you off. Hated the Ardcore.
