Refurb Dual Boiler Coffee Machine - Has Anyone Bought One?

This looks like it is not a terrible deal, but the 6 months warranty is really low and givne it is a refurb, we don't know how old the non replaced parts would be.

its a pretty terrible deal imo, you can get it for that price new (when on sale at gg etc) with 2 years warranty.

I would not pay any more than $400-500 for a second hand/refurb dual boiler.

  • Breville often have them on their own eBay store as a 'refurb'. I got one when eBay had a discount code on for less than 900 dollars.

When Breville list them as 'refurb' its not the same kind of refurb as average Joe's. Brevilles are basically brand new customer returns that are tested, checked and sent back out the door.

The one I got came exactly how you would expect from JB Hi-fi. It was manufactured less than a month ago.

  • As above - terrible deal

If you want refurb get one from Breville or if from a third party (eg average joes) don’t Pay more than $500 because of how much risk you sit with outside of their warranty period

You can get a new one for as low as 800-900 on sale (with some sort of gift card deal stacking), such as this deal in December https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/813410. This refurb is a terrible deal.

If you want to save and get a refurb, wait for it to go on sale on Breville's refurb ebay store and stack with a discount - https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/364760074239 -it's $850 and comes with a 12 month warranty direct with Breville right now, will likely go cheaper in some future sale.

I got an express impress that way, stacked a 10% off their breville store with a 25% off refurb ebay sale

    • I actually wonder if the Breville refurbs might have gone through more thorough testing and part replacements, and as such are more reliable than a new one.

      • Could be. Mine looked pretty much brand new, box was turned inside out and a lot of the components still had plastic on them. Kind of like an apple refurb, they replace the outside bits and reuse the externals. 6 months in though and it still works like a dream.

        • Is this from average joes coffee?
