  • Have been using the rival 300 for the past few years, anyone used both of those to give me a comparison?

I have Rival 310 (similar to Rival 300) and Steelseries Prime (can't remember which version but not this one) and the picture at the bottom of the link gives a good idea.
The prime is slippery and the bump just feels too tall and wrong coming from Rival 310.

Unfortunately if you're looking for a Rival 310 replacement, this isn't the one. :(

      The price is good though…

The newer SteelSeries shapes are clearly inspired by the Zowie EC series.

I.e. mid hump, safe boring shape.

The hump is mostly under your fingers and the top part of your palm, rather than filling the centre of your palm.

The older Rival 310/300 shapes have a longer flat slope going down to your fingers at the front, so that encourages arching fingers in a claw fashion, with little contact between fingertips and the top of your palm. The hump is toward the back, filling the centre of your palm more.

This should be apparent if you look at their side profiles.

The Rival 300 is one of the best mice I've ever used but unfortunately it's a discontinued line and I still haven't found a replacement yet. The 310 doesn't look like it's it and the Prime is definitely not it.

You can still find the 300 in some pockets of the net.

Nothing will ever beat the MX518

      MX500 with weight taken out?

  • +1

69 grams for a wired mouse.. that is not lightweight.
VGN Dragonfly f1 for $69, wireless and weighs 49 grams.

    • Maybe it was lightweight for its time.

Maybe they're also trying to clear out old stock. Why else would they be selling them for $30 + free shipping?

    • A number so nice you said it twice

Most people who care about mice aren't getting this, it's just for people who haven't upgraded in a while which btw, 69 grams is light for them. Just remember that the xm1r is 70 grams and basically no one complains about its weight considering it's wired.

    Any wireless mouse for sale?

  • +1

I have 3 of these, one is the wireless version, love them. Software works. Solid build quality, simple design. Really crisp clicks.

  • I don't like super lightweight mice, feels cheapy cheap

  • I'm currently using Onikuma CW903 is this mouse better?

Also for any ebay plus members, spend $6 more and you can use your $5 off $35 spend voucher.

Reviews seem to state the clicks are quite loud because of the mechanical switches. Was hoping to pick one up for office use but might pass now.

  • Amazing mouse, mine worked flawlessly for about 3 years, then suddenly right-click button died.
    Steelseries software sucks.
Logitech G502 since then, 5 years and still going as new.

  • anyone knows how well does this work on a mac ? cheers

    • This is a wired mouse with a USB type A plug.

So I'd say no, given that modern Macbooks all have type Cs and require adapters for what Apple considers "unnecessary" ports, including USB type A.

I would look for a mouse that supports Bluetooth or has a wireless receiver with a type C plug.

If you already have accessories that provide USB type A ports, you don't mind the wire and just want a cheap gaming mouse, then go ahead.

      • Thanks, yeah not concerned about the cable nor usb-A.

more so the software side of things. Sometimes some gaming mice have a weird fuzzy scrolling thing. I've been a razer user my whole life and for some reason some razer mice does it some don't.

I do currently use a wireless hyperbasilisk but am finding that the rubber grips on the side are starting to wear off and then it becomes sticky. So am looking at other options. :)
