Previous experience is the ride/food needs to be ordered in the same currency as the credit, so has to be in Australia.
I can tell you definitively no. I have tried. Your gift card balance will show multiple currencies and you can only use them when you are in that location

Just saw it now. Only uber it seems, not uber eats designated gift card. Although I know that uber gift cards can be used for uber eats.

Isn't it better to buy the $50 GC if you have Citi prestige using the spend $40 on Uber and get $10 cashback? That turns into a 20% discount.
Been doing it but I haven’t got $10cashback since March this year, tried again last week still not got cashback for purchase of $50 Uber gift card. Seems like they’ve patched the loophole?
I did it a couple of times in the last 6 months and didn't get the cashback too. Called customer service and they manually credited the $10 each time.
Same I have to send online message to get it manually credited. Good to know I’m not alone lol
