  • Thanks got some

I get mine for like $1.20 from the warehouse :)

    • +1

      Congratulations.

    • How often

      • +1

They pop up randomly like every month when it's a few months out from expiry.

        • Does anyone know if there's a way to configure camel or some other price tracking service so that it shows when Bonsoy appears on warehouse?

  • Finally, time to stock up! Same price at Woolworths for those without prime membership.

  • -1

It's so unfair that this is so expensive because it's the only one that is good

    • +1

You're spot on about Bonsoy, tasting the best IMHO. I just can't drink any other soy milk brands!

      • As in you can't literally drink it? Have you tried opening the carton first? Straight up, or pouring it into a container, maybe a straw could assist?

        • +1

Haha, sounds like you've got a ton of free time on your hands!

          • @ky1975: it's ok buddy, you can take on a funny comment on your first world problem. It's ok. You don't need to escalate from there. It's ok.

      • indeed…. tried many brands like So Good, soyboy, VitaSoy etc and Bonsoy taste the best when making latte / coffee

        • Soy Boy is my favourite, but it’s even more expensive than Bonsoy in Perth. People in Melb and Syd get more choice and lower prices for soy overall :(

          • @skittlebrau: Soyboy and Bonsoy are made by the same company, and their ingredients lists are quite similar. I'm not sure why Soyboy is much more expensive, though.

            • @ky1975: Agreed, stuff spending more than ~$3-3.50.

    • +1

Maybe that's why it is so expensive???

      • yeah absolutely, it's worth it, i just wish i could tolerate the $1 a litre soymilk still. i cannot.

    • I switched to Vitasoy Regular (not barista) and to be honest can't notice the difference in my coffee. Loads cheaper and froths well.

      • Yeah that stuff isn't bad at all, gone are they days it's under $2 though. The last type I got was vitasoy milky regular long life. Keep look out for that, $18.36/12 = $1.53 (s&s)

      • I agree it's a good alternative. I buy Vitasoy when I can't get Bonsoy cheap. I still happily pay the 50 cent premium for Bonsoy but anywhere beyond that, I go back to Vitasoy.

  • No word on my order from this deal from Crypto coffee characters. Will have to do a charge back to credit cards.

The 12 pack of soy Milky hasbbeen ok in the interim for a cost saver, will just use that stuff up and a few more long blacks

As always, $21.99 for 6 at Costco if anyone goes there.

    • seriously? i never paid attention! does it ever go on 'special' at Costco?

      • Yes seriously. Never on special though.
But has always been this price since I first bought it.

  • -3

No resealable cap, No thanks :|

    • +4

There's a reason it's cheap. Lots of fillers, not much soy bean.

Filtered water, soy protein (3.5%), vegetable oils (sunflower, canola), corn maltodextrin, cane sugar, minerals (calcium, phosphorus, magnesium), vegetable fibre, acidity regulator (332, 450), antioxidant (ascorbic acid), vitamins (B12, A, B2, B1).

      • +1

Yeah, one pays peanuts one gets what?
For comparison, Bonsoy uses whole soybeans (at least 14%), I only purchase products that use whole soybeans.

  • I am a newbie at Amazon subscriptions. I have a subscription for the Bonsoy that I have until 28 April to skip the scheduled 7 May delivery. Does anyone know when the price applicable to this shipment is set? Would it be the 7th May or any time between the 2 dates? Thanks !

    • +1

I just cancel sub after delivery then reorder again when ozb tells me to

      • Thanks, but is there a limit to how often you can do this before Amazon get cranky at you?

        • Don't think so but you can read their t&c

      • that's annoying too but has to be done. Wish there was a way cancel them in one hit haha

Does everyone forget there was a class action against this milk in 2014 and people died from drinking it, as well as over 500 fell ill in Australia, many with lifelong thyroid dysfunction as a result of their reckless iodine content just to improve taste.

    • -1

      Everyone except you, haha.

      • +2

Yeah I know someone who has to take medication for the rest of their life from the huge iodine exposure from drinking their milk during the event. Must be so funny for you?

        • Why would that be funny.

        • Fair enough to highlight this but sincerely, to what end? Are you suggesting people not buy a product pulled from shelves in 2009 and reformulated without the offending ingredient?

Many products hurt and kill people; many products are getting away with not even being what they say they are until they're found out (honey, olive oil, vitamins etc etc etc). If we want to avoid dodgy products, we'll have to stay out of the supermarket 😅

          • @Unotifoso: I understand what you're saying. Sure people can buy what they like, but I'm sure if people knew more about this, especially how scummy Bonsoy treated legitimate Australian claimants for many months before the class action, they might not want to support this company, or at least doubt their intentions towards customers.
What they did was reckless, and then after the class action settled, payments didn't even materialize and many claimants with life-long damage got $0. Some BS corporate restructuring to absolve themselves of future liability from the case.

Don't forget, 'soy makes you gay'. I read a longish article making that claim 10 years ago, but cannot find it now. The concept is that soybeans contain phytoestrogens that disrupt the human endocrine system: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4270274/

If an adult male is exposed to lowish levels of estrogen, nothing bad will happen, but exposure could cause problems in babies and children. For instance, as we all know, there is an epidemic of "transgenderism" now in Western countries. What's the cause? Also an autism epidemic. What's the cause?

      • +1

Anyone with half a brain wouldn't believe or read into all that false propaganda.
Chicken and dairy has more hormones, that and beer will give you man boobs before a bit of soy milk does.

Look up the very real chemical compounds who make up the colloquial term 'obesogens', searched for for years and then first found in the anti fowling paint on large ships (the red paint in oil tankers etc) and then banned, but still prevalent and doing ecological damage all the way up and down the food chain

          • @Unotifoso: That sounds a bit vague but if so it would affect everyone (not exclusive to vegans etc)

            • @G-rig: Yeah wow I'm surprised by the negatives! This isn't some conspiracy theory thing. It's actually super interesting and worth a look up and that's why I didn't go into it.

Basically biologists were looking for a cause of animals (including pets, animals in the wild, babies) getting bigger, thinking it must be something new in the environment, for more than a decade. Then Marine biologists found female barnacles with male organs on large tankers, which were undergoing endocrine disruption due to the paint on the ships.

It was loosely related to the above but not really, just a good excuse to find something new and interesting to be worried about 😅

  • S&S a bit cheaper than Costco, shame can only get 6L max, every time I go to Costco, I stock up 10 boxes because I only go to Costco every few months

  • -2

    Made by the nuclear water?

  • -1

Still think Vitasoy Original is the best especially if you stocked up at $2 ($1.8 S&S) Calci-plus taste the best but hardly on sale, so $32 plus 10% S&S for 12 delivered is likely the best deal you get for Calci-plus.

I have gave Bonsoy enough chances for all the hype, still can't get why people would go for it……

    • -2

Chinese.. used to be many months for a year or two when it was never under 3$ for any vitasoy. 2$ or under for whichever one good.
