Not the cheapest in history but it had been sitting over $40 USD for awhile and now it's $33.26 (just below average price) which results in a total delivered price of $41.11 AUD. I've been watching this with CamelCamelCamel for awhile.

For those who bought the Eneloops from DSE recently, now you can finally buy a decent charger for them!

EDIT: Remember you will need an Australian adapter for this (Thanks rattle)

Currently charging some eneloops in my one. It's great and easy to use.
Need a converter plug, but they are easy to get these days. Just spend a little on getting one that's safe to use and not some 99 cent China special. :-)

    • Thanks for the heads up I wouldn't have forgotten about that and been unhappy when it arrived :) I'll add this above.

    • Anyone got a link for a GOOD QUALITY converter plug, that is safe for a household with kids? I can only find converters with great big holes to accept any type of plug - which isn't child-safe.

I found 1 or 2 on Amazon but sadly none ship to Australia. For now I'm going to use my Jaycar one which I realised will do US as well as UK which is what I originally bought it for. But this still probably doesn't help you.

        • I had the same problem. I might have to get a US extension cable, and ask my electrician friend to swap the US plug for an Australian plug. Now if only I can get hold of a US extension cable!

        • You don't need US extension cable, just need to cut the US plug off the cable, then attach an AU plug to the end. Well, an electrician should do it, really. But it would take him 30 seconds.

        • nicbaz, it uses an AC adapter, not a simple straight-through cable.

Just grab a pair of pliers and carefully bend the prongs to match the aus angle. Works perfect, have done it to many US plugs. I think most of the cheap converters are a fire/death trap!

Which will leave a gap for small fingers or objects to touch the live pins… I think I will try to find an AU one with insulated pins that fit snuggly.

Also, would your home insurance pay out if your house burnt down and you had bent the pins like that?

Nah not if you do it right.. here's mine: http://imgur.com/a/Kl2IM

anyways, I always recommend getting a parent to help with the sharp things, and don't do anything you think may kill you!

        • Oh right, well done and thanks for uploading the photos.

Or just buy an AU 3v 3amp ac adapter, safe and easy I guess..

        • True, but rather expensive. I think I'll just have to buy one of the cheapo converters and glue it permanently to the plugpack, thereby rendering it kid-safe. It's not like I'll need to access the US plug ever again!

  • i have one of these. can't remember what model. very happy with mine

  • Good price - I got one a while ago and they're a great charger .

Not happy with mine, bought one of these not long ago and died in just over a month.

  • This is where i bang on about a $1 adaptor with earth.

    • thanks for the link, just be aware that this adapter does not have pins that are semi-insulated. Here is a link to one that has for illustration purpose http://dicksmith.com.au/product/M7323/

      • You mean those little skirty things on the plus pinny thing and the minus pinny thing?

Never seen that before, but i like it.

        • Mandated in AS/NZS 3112:2000

        • Indeed it is - mandatory since 2005. Does that mean selling plugs without the insulation in Oz is unlawful?

  • Same as Billyo, I had one of these and it died after just a few months.

      Holy crap, that's 2x dead.

I bought one & it's ok for now.

If i had my time over again though i'd probably go for this (don't forget to deduct their value-added tax).

      • thats the same as i have. got mine from the US about a year ago for ~$70 iirc. very very happy with it, tho i have heard of some dying etc as well.

i think both this deal and the link you supplied rate about the same, the MH-C9000 has slightly more features but i recon with either of these, unless your unlucky enough to have one crap out on you, you cant really go wrong.

  • How big is the AC adapter? Wondering if it's too bulky for travelling.

    • The adapters are pretty small actually, they will be fine for travelling, just need a converter for the plug.

      • thanks cheeze

  • Aww I just bought one 2 week ago

I bought here EU version of the same charger ($36 delivered to AU). This one is the same charger and even couple of euros cheaper.

  • check around guys

bc 900 and 1000 models may be cheaper.
