ShopBack & ShareTea in Store Cashback. How Does It Work?

Hi all. Was in the CBD the other night and grabbed a Sharetea for my daughter and noticed they do cash back via a QR code in store. I went through the process of scanning and paid via the app, but now the transaction is pending as pay in store now to get your cash back. Does that mean i was supposed to pay at their eft terminal to get cashback? If so why does the app allow you to pay in app if cash back is disallowed that way? The process was quite confusing when i tried it and the server wasnt of great help and advised to pay via app. Maybe knowing i wouldnt get the cashback that way? Anyway can anyone confirm how your supposed to do it so i dont potentially make the same mistake in future!

    you pay in the app but instore cash backs are loyalty based - ie you'll need to revisit the store to get the cashback for the previous transaction - have like 2/3 months. you should be able to see a loyalty tab in the app under your account

    Unlike Liven, Shopback only rewards returning customers and not one-off customers

    You have to go back to the store and make another transaction in the near future to get your previous transaction validated.

    So if you only go once, that pending cashback will turn into expired.

    It's a good business model for the shop and SB but not good for (one off) customers.

    Fortunately, there's a cafe I go to frequently that I get a few bucks back every week. I'do go there regardless, so SB is a bonus for me.

    Sometimes, the store will not be participating in Shopback CB anymore when you return. :(

    OK thanks guys. Makes sense. Any ideas of the expiry on return? I only bought Friday night and its saying expiring soon. If its thats soon i wont bother using it again. CB was only 38 cents and card payment fees were 11 cents. For 27 cents its hardly worth following up.
