Free Upgrade to Multi-City Membership: 12 Months $69.99, 24 Months $119.99 @ Entertainment

91

The free Multi City upgrade for Entertainment is back, meaning that it is effectively $69.99 for Multi-City.

The popular long-running $55 single city deal may still be better for some (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/609567), though this will save me some $$ on upcoming trip to Gold Coast, including through Dreamworld discount (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/841162#comment-15185690).

I'm ready for the onslaught of "Not worth it anymore", "Only if it is 99c" comments, though hopefully some people get value from this.

I got the 99c single city and struggled to use it more than once.

Anyone that finds this useful able to comment on where best to use it?

Rubbish deals, crap places, save your money! Thank god I only paid $0.99c

    • Thanks ozb

Can’t tell what this for. Pass…

      Ditto.. Scam for sure

    • What is confusing about it? Would original title (Entertainment Digital Membership Free Upgrade to Multi-City: $69.99 Multi-City @ Entertainment) make it clearer? I think mod’s updated title makes more sense, though if it is causing confusion, I can ask for it to be changed back.

same struggle to use it more than once on the 99c single city deal.

    Probably worth a $1.
    They have missed the boat.

  • So what does anyone use this for any more?
Between the cash back site for Giftcards & shoppadocket for meal deals.

All the good offers seem gone

Got a 3 month membership on the last deal. I only tried it a few times, and 3 out of the 4 restaurants/cafes I attempted to redeem refused to honor the vouchers.

"We don't participate anymore", even though they were clearly still listed as a current participant. Nice way to bring people to your door guess.

Submitted the feedback to Entertainment Book, and heard nothing back.

      that's really crap.

Sounds like EB are just extracting money from subscribers & businesses in their laat dying gasp.

    • Submitted the feedback to Entertainment Book, and heard nothing back.

Happened to me a couple of times. They reinstate a previous voucher of your choice to use again.
Doesn’t help when you’ve been overcharged for this one.

    • Thanks for info. I think I’ll contact restaurant in advance if planning to use EB - though I think they need to sort this issue out, as there must be some false advertising issue to this (not sure if it would be EB or restaurant).

For people who have had issues with places accepting, can you provide names of restaurants?

  • Hard pass.

Used this in Brisbane and Gold Coast. Definitely worthwhile. Dining, travel insurance, car hire etc. quickly recover the 69 bucks. Emirates had a 10% off offer in December via EB.

Thanks op. Mines not expired yet but 90 days to activate.

For those who don’t want to take the plunge, check out first table.

I live in Brisbane and use this HEAPS. Almost exclusively for dining but occasionally for activities as well. Maybe other cities aren't worth it but it is for me!

Also found a lot of places refusing to honour.

  • We used to buy entertainment book every year (usually in digital), but I think the number of people using these vouchers dropped significantly when they switched to digital only (schools used to sell the physical book for fundraising for example), and the good deals have plummeted since then (maybe due to lack of perceived benefit to businesses given lack of people using the vouchers).
Last year had issues with a few businesses not honouring the vouchers, so won’t be buying again.

    • Yeah, seems to have fallen out of favour with OzB crowd. People used to constantly make posts about it and savings on things through it, so it is a pity to read the negative stories in the above comments.

I’ve only bought twice before, both times because it was going to make buying something else $ positive. Similar reason this time, discount on three Dreamland tickets was going to offset entire cost of entertainment sub. Hopefully I can use it for some other discounts for Gold Coast holiday (and other things for next year in Melb). If not, at least the donation to Peter Mac is a positive.

  • Still waiting for the ALH pubs to come back.
