  • Which one is better. Canon IXUS 220HS or this one. When you compare the price as well, what's better. We've seen some good deals for Canon 220HS recently. I am not sure if they were below this price.

    • I thought they are two very different camera. IXUS are small compact cameras at 141g, whereas LX5 has wider aperture, larger sensor, shots raw, lots of manual control etc hence the comparison with S100.

    • Haha didn't mean to confuse anyone, yes they are 2 different cameras, I just compared it as I had it, so for my personal requirements it produces apt pictures and has great features including a few manual controls, 1080p video recording and slow motion capture as a bonus…, you need to weight how much you want to pay, as per your requirements and purpose…

Watch a few YouTube video samples of the Canon IXUS 220HS you'll be amazed, it truly is an all-rounder… ;)

      • What's the best price you can get for Canon IXUS 220HS in current market?? As I already have a DSLR - Nikon D5100, I prefer to go for a small size one this time. My old Cannon digital camera is very old now. Which is still going it never dies. But it's time to retire that one.

        • If ShopBot Speaketh the truth, then Harvey Norman should have some for $138, obviously call them up first…, they are floating at $189 everywhere else…

The Canon 125 HSBK seems to perform similarly @ $177… Link

  • Canon Powershot s100 is $279 with free shipping from Kogan today.

    • So they both are the same price. Which one is better?

      • The LX5 gets my vote. Tried to get friends traveling Asia to grab me one earlier in the year for sub $400. No dice. Now it's sub $300? Winner.

  • How does this camera compare with the S100? Also, have heard the s100 has poor battery life?

      • Well I ordered the S100 from Kogan this morning due to their free shipping deal but have since cancelled and ordered the LX5 instead. Was a bit of a tough decision but after researching more, I think the faster shutter speed and better battery life of the LX5 benefits me more and the size doesn't matter too much as it'll be staying in a handbag.

  • I have the LX3, these are great cameras…

This is pretty much identical to the Leica D-Lux 5
