I always thought carrots only last maximum 1 month even stored properly? I have a bag of carrots stored in lower compartment of fridge since 6 January and still looks fresh no slim or ooze? Did I just find myself a new hack.

Did you try eating any? They’re probably woody?
Nibble on one, what if they're the display plastic kind?
Idk the leaves on carrots are dead yellow
Cutting off the leaves before storage is the norm.
In the days before refrigeration was invented, people in colder climates stored root vegetables in cellars for months on end. The American's call them root cellars
Most fruit/veggies at times are stored for months and months before you buy them. Seasonable items for examples. So you most likely got super fresh ones!
Heirloom potatoes.. antique carrots 🤔
Nothing like glyphosate coated GMO vegetables to last forever ;)
Have a look at what "carrots" really looked like 100 years ago :P

True for most "natural" produce, particularly domesticated / farmed animals. This paleo-natural-"if my great grandmother didn't eat it I don't want it" sentiment is completely off base.
Orange carrots were cultivated in the Netherlands over 300 years ago.
Colour is one of many properties.
Interesting video, thanks for the link!
Yeah, I store them in the original plastic bag in the veggie drawer and they often last a very long time. Sadly, plastic bags seem to be the best way of storing veggies to keep them fresh in the fridge. I think it’s because it exclude more air and therefore oxygen from the produce than say a plastic container which leaves pockets of air.
I have this set from Kmart

Pieces can also be purchased individually. Tried it after many positive comments on OzBargain. They have extended the life of my vegies significantly.
If OP got them for free from this deal they should be ashamed.
Those were meant for Rudolph
Not quite 5 months yet unless you mean over 5 months since jan 2023?
