Explain…
They swap the panel and give us a dud
I bought one going against what everyone said and i personally can't fault it the quality is amazing
Yes, unfortunately, our is U7KAU, compared to the USA and Euro model which is U7K, the panel is different and we have no Android TV.
Speaking of this, Hisense was even worse a couple of years ago they just put on the same model number (no AU at the end) but in fact sent inferior products to AU, which was very annoying, I said to myself I would never buy any.
However, for this particular TV, I can't fault it at all. I have a X90J and TCL C835, I recommended a C845 to my friend who was about to buy a 75'' Tv during the black Friday sale ($1650ish). I went to store with him and compared the U7KAU and C845 side by side, overall U7KAU was very impressive acknowledging TCL was indeed brighter with deeper black. However, at that time the Hisense was $500 cheaper so we both agreed the Hisense was the better deal.
tldr, if C845 is about the same price or just slightly more expensive, buy TCL. otherwise you cant justify the extra you paid for just marginally better quality, an opinion from a C835 and X90J user, me.
Is the smart TV in these okay at least? What's the difference from Android TV?
The models we get here are the EU models which also come with vidaa 7. Specs are the same, they're just as cagey about the zone count and nits in the EU.
Comparison with the C845, that's a 2000nit target display, u7 is 1000nits so what you saw is about right. In practice 1000nits is all you need and with 4000 nits being the new mastering bar, anything inbetween is neither here or there in showing the creators intent.
thank you for the info, didnt know the EU version is about the same. but where did you see the 1000nits? I didn't find that info but I think that sounds right given the US version is 2000nit, that's why we could see that U7KAU wasn't as bright as the 2000nit C845.
My parents have this model, the 75" which is an IPS.
Great display, bright, deep blacks with great contrast ratio, looks good at night.
And being an IPS the viewing angles are so good.. can't really complain for this price..
Isn't this nerfed in Australia
