Ur missing the price point brah
the only phone that comes close to your specs for a price was my pixel 6a for $36.
but for general use or as stated for a backup or burner, its not as bad. kids phone maybe?

I'll give you $37 for it.
You don't, you really don't.
My friend uses a phone with 2gb of RAM and they don't have any issues with Facebook app or Messaging etc.
Free yourself from the never ending upgrade cycle.
You need at least 6GB of ram for the phone to be usable
Agreed. You also need a RTX 40 Series Phone Edition GPU and 460TB of storage to make it barely usable.
4g in 2024? Better roll up your sleeves lol
i have a samsung a12 nacho model and its 4gb/128gb and run really well without problems
That's because One UI is well optimized and the phone has a much more powerful processor compared to the TCL here
Perfect phone for the kids
out of stock
Damn that was quick thank goodness I ordered one 🙏
Thanks for posting.
Had a quick look around the site and picked up the TCL 30+ instead for the same price.
Appears to be the next model up with FHD+ AMOLED screen and slightly better chipset.
Bugger missed out
@spy: Still available in a different colour

@prhino: Was gonna get one until I read this…

@spy: Fair enough. Doubt you'll get a better reviewed $99 phone though.
Could have got the TCL 20 Pro 5G for $199. Also comes with FHD+ AMOLED screen but with 6GB RAM and a Snapdragon Octacore chipset with 256GB storage. Also it supports wireless charging. Sure it's stuck with Android 11 but I've never seen a problem with that on mine as I have one. Newer Android versions are probably more like a resource hog downgrade.

craptastic power managment… even messaging apps get closed within seconds of closing them… dont ever expect a notification ever again
Sounds like the perfect work phone
have my +1 for the review.
work phone it is then. all honesty i do have the TCL 20L+ and was great, no updates but great to use as a dual sim unit with big screen and 256gb storage.
Speaking of that. HN has the TCL 20 Pro 5G Moondust Gray going for $199. Dual SIM. Wouldn't that make a great work phone?. It's was the flagship model of the 20 series so it basically had it all.

ah damn missed it - needed a cheapie phone to adjusting my bafang mid drive bicycle on the road
What about this?. It's only $199.

looks good to me - thank you
but at $200 should I just wait for the ozbargain fav Motorola G54 and join the club?
specwise they look very similar, but I am no expert
only thing layman me could tell is TCL is older/less chance of android support
https://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=10855&idPhone…
Yes the TCL 20 Pro 5G is older and stuck with Android 11. But newer versions of Android don't necessarily mean better it could introduce resource hogging bloat. It was the flagship model of the 20 series. It still is a great phone. I have one I use daily.
@prhino: That's a great deal. Even has an AMOLED screen.
@hollykryten: And NFC, and 3.5mm, and wireless charging, and microSD, and even IR blaster. It's truly got every feature an enthusiast could want. The camera is very good, only negative is when you start recording a video you get a frame skip during the first few seconds. Yes older version of Android but much newer than the LG v30+ it replaced. I'm very happy
@Ezekiel2320: Are you referring to the TCL 30+ by any chance?. I don't see in the specifications where it states that the TCL 30+ has wireless charging?. It states 18W wired charging only.
@hollykryten: I was talking about the TCL 20 Pro 5g having those festures
@prhino: TCL 30+ Tech Black is now sold out. That was fast.
@prhino: missed that too. must have been a good price. thanks for posting
how much was it? i cant see price anymore
@ChatCPT: It was $99. Fantastic price. It's no wonder it went OOS so quick.
@hollykryten: damn just what i was after - cheers
@hollykryten: G54 is now $149!
love it when the universe responds
What do you mean by burner. Does it still have your name and ID?
no ID required when purchasing
You only have to show id when activating a SIM. No need to when purchasing an outright bought phone from a retailer.
Sold out now. Some peoples have been getting great deals.
Still seems to be available?…well it let me add it to the cart.
