I would like to buy a prebuilt PC and want to spend around $1400-$1500.
I need a PC that is suitable for 1440p gaming, has Wi-Fi and 32gb of RAM. I have seen the various Techfast builds on here but most of them have only 16gb of ram and no Wi-Fi, once you add these options it is closer to the $1600 range.
How realistic is it that I will be able to buy a PC with a 7800xt or 4070, 32gb of RAM and Wi-Fi in the $1400-$1500 price range (shipping included). Using PC Part Picker I can get the price down to $1636 and that is using a 7600 which would be more expensive than the 7500f Techfast usually opt for and a 650w fully modular Thermaltalke PSU which is also better than anything Techfast usually offers.
TLDR: Are prebuilt PC prices going to go down in the coming months or have they stagnated?
You're asking a crystal ball question. We don't have insights into their future supply chain availability.
Most of the parts prebuilt companies use are cheaper brand components with high surplus they can eke out more margin on. It's interesting how nearly every 'OZB offer' is exactly $-200 the stated 'normal price'.
You can add another 16GB RAM to these 4070S builds and a cheap USB WiFi module to maintain ~$1,500 mark: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/840563
