  • Opens a Savings Maximiser and makes a deposit into their Savings Maximiser between 15 April 2024 and 30 June 2024 or hold an existing Savings Maximiser account and
  • Uses their new Orange Everyday card to make 5+ settled (not pending) card purchases within any calendar month between 15 April 2024 and 30 June 2024, (excluding ATM withdrawals, balance enquiries and EFTPOS cash out only transactions), collectively the 'Eligibility Criteria'.

The worst bank of the year

    • +1

      Why?

I actually signed up for one of these referrals when I was like 17 (20 years ago or so). Didn't use the bank for years, but then started using them when I backpacked and they had zero international fees at ATMs. Has been pretty good since, although I think they dropped the international fee free thing.

They used to be good but now they make you jump through hoops to unlock their bonuses. I don't use mine much anymore as a result.

    • I'm using it for online shopping only. Sometimes tap and go as well. No issue at all. Even transfer from other bank is within seconds.. for me it's perfect for extra bank account without fees.

Does this work for joint account?

  • Nice. I recently joined with $75 promo. $125 would have been nicer

    lol they on to us

If you use this offer in a manner that is not satisfactory to us or in line with the intent of the offer (such as sharing your referral code on the 'OzBargain' website or other similar websites, or advertising or marketing your referral code), we may refuse to pay the cash reward (including in respect of any or all referrals made in relation to the offer). This includes conduct on your part which is designed to undermine the fair and intended operation of the offer.

Isn’t that the whole point of a referral system? Think OzB has a pretty fair way of doing it as well..

  • Sorry if dumb question but since I already have ING everyday + saving account, does that mean I can't get this offer even if I have a friend I can refer to?

    • You can refer your friend, just send your code/link directly to them.

      • I'm having hard time finding my code, where is it?

        • +1

ING should send it to you, they seem to send them out in batches so give it a few days.

The unique code also appears to be unchanged from previous deals.

    • My daughter is an existing ING member and wanted to refer me so we can benefit from their bonus. ING told her that they only give out limited referral codes and she missed out this time (how dumb is that!!!!).

  • Would it make sense to have separate listings for the $75, $100 and $125 versions?

      • Ah yeah that’s awkward. I don’t have $125 myself but in some ways it could sort of make sense to make the referral system $125 only.

  • Is the referral code be random for $75, $100 and $125 ? I've received $75 email and my partner's got $100.

    • The referral codes from ING are unique. The amount is random (as far as I can tell, there's probably some math in there but we'll never know).

The OzBargain referral link goes to a random user who has opted in to this deal.

      • They are unique for each member but repeated four each campaign (i.e. once you have yours it doesn't change)

What's with all the downvotes on every comment saying how much they got? 😂😂😂

    • I can upvote you if your feelings are hurt

Incentives users to PM those with higher referals instead of using the OzB referral system

      • I would want 125 over a peasant 75

      • I agree, it is essentially soliciting referrals. Despite reports, mods don't see it that way though

        • Mods have removed all comments now despite initially marking reports as 'no action taken'

        • Tbh I didn't really think of it that way when I replied to an earlier comment!

  • I never get this for some reason.

  • Oddly enough, you can change the referal URL after "/refer_XXX" and it changes the amount (even the amount on the refer page aligns with it). Lol.. must be a bug…

    • I would say that the referral code is what is used in determining amount to be paid into your accounts. So regardless of what the website says by changing the URL, ING will only be paying what referral reward is linked to your code

      • Could be an arguing point if you screenshot the terms (even the amount changes there) and the section where you see the code and amount if you wanted to fight for the extra.

  • So weird how they split random amounts for each referer. I don't see how it benefits them besides annoying customers who signed up on the 'cheaper bonus' then finding out there was a 'higher bonus' option.

Should just leave everyone's at $75 if they want to save money.

  • how long do we have to keep the $1000 in the account?

    • You don't, you can transfer it back immediately.

    • Have you enabled your private message on OzB? I have replied your PM via referral but you might not have received it if you haven’t got PM option enabled.

  • Seems like a lot of hoops to jump through for $75 … And that's assuming you already have a friend with an existing account to refer you.

  • Hey guys, are there any bank account fees for the Orange Everyday and Savings Maximiser bank accounts?

    • +1

Nope, but to get this bonus (and the other perks) you need to fulfill the monthly conditions.

  • I'm a current ING customer, but I can't see my referral code. Does anyone know how I can access it?

    • +1

      From email.

      • Ah, too bad - seems like I never received it.

  • Is this restricted to Aus citizens?

    • Australian resident for taxation purposes

    • No, people with International Passport can also open ING accounts.

  • This does not include for under 18 account? What is the best offer currently for youth.?

  • Well I fullfiled the requirement 1000 deposit with 5+ purchases, but nothing happened yet. Will they reward till the end of June or they just wont honour it? Not using referral code from OZB.

  • +2

Very annoying how we can't see if a referral has been successful or not.

Referred a whole bunch of mates over the last few weeks, no bonuses as of yet.

ING should learn from Revolut where every step can be monitored live, and the bonus comes through straight away!

P.S. I was a huge fan of ING back in the day, but their bonuses/offers/requirements became too much

  • i wonder how the amount is chosen, i.e. the last few ref offers they had, my code has been for $100, never $125

  • How bloody long does it take to get the referral and referee credit?

    • How long has it been since you referred someone or someone referred you? Last time I got referred from someone on Ozbargain it took just over 1 month i believe.

      • Came through the other day, yes - appears to be about that long.

  • How long does it take to get the referral and referee credit?
