Optus Flex Plus 365 Days 260GB 5G Prepaid Mobile Plan $220 (Was $320) New Customers Only @ Optus

160

I am new to posting a deal here, please let me know if I need to fix anything in the post!

Have been shopping around for a new 5G 365 Days plan that isn't from Kogan/Vodafone network due to drop outs. 260GB for first 3 recharges, then 180GB.

Was this close to picking up a Boost plan until I came across this Optus sim at Woolies for $240 so I did some digging on the internet.

T's & C's: For new services only, $320 SIM on sale for $220, for the first 365 days. Reverts to standard price thereafter.

P.S - It says Free Express Delivery too

    Is the 5G speed capped?

EDIT: Never mind found out it is capped at 150Mbps

Vodafone in my area can be lucky if you get 1mbps down

  • What's the cheapest 365 day Sim at the moment, with reasonable data (80Gb or so), looking for one for backup

Probably Catch Connect (Optus reseller) - $120 with 120GB. Usually 60GB but currently double until the end of the month by the looks of it.

Yet again, existing customers get screwed by Optus

    • Port out.

Ok price, but I Recently switched back to Optus prepaid, and was disappointed no eSIM option, and no visual voicemail which many other telcos do, also occasionally have poor reception a fair bit more than last telco in syd metro, just a heads up for anyone on fence

Worth the extra $40 IMO. WiFi calling, international calls, visual voicemail. Being on the Telstra network certain helps when out of the city as well.

    But to each their own.

Got this from boost directly for $270 with $50 extra cash rewards on Monday - sim delivered in 1 day!

Looks like offer is still available from boost and Cashrewards

  • Is there a expiry date for this sim? My plan ends in about 3 months time, can i buy it now, and activate it in about 3 months?

    • Just went into the optus store and got one. The sim i got has an expiry of Dec 25. So, i guess it would have long expiry date.

  • With this plan, do you get discounted Optus sport ?

    • If you call $12 every 28 days a discount

  • Just a reminder ~~~2 years ago Optus happily let everyones' data get stolen off their servers !

  • Also 7.2% cashback on prepaid sims

  • They need to bring back the 1/2 price post-paid promotion!

  • How often Optus does have these kind of promotions?

  • Should one be still worried about personal data?

  • Can i pool this prepay sim with with the data for post paid plans? Thinking of getting this for my kid.

    Thanks
