seems to last quite well on my car
how many weeks (months?) does it last?
It's hard to compare. My car spends most of its time under cover. I applied it when it was brand new, and after a year it still beaded. My wife's car spends more time outside, and after 3 months it is noticeably less smooth, though it still has the slick shine (7 years old, but used clay bar and surface prep before applying 2 coats).
Going forward, given how easy it is to apply, I think I'll put a new coat every 6 months or so. It really doesn't take long, and I don't have to be super careful around the vinyl like with wax.
Does it work for interior surface like vinyl trims and plastics? Leather seats?
Is this a troll comment? Makes zero sense to apply on interior surface - there is no benefit. And I would definitely avoid leather at all cost.
Haha, yeah, wouldn't try it on leather. Or anything interior.
I have seen interior ceramic coating products like these, https://carcareco.com.au/product/diy-detail-interior-ceramic…
Since I am new to this, doesn't hurt to ask.
Yeah it does, works a treat, shoot us some pics after you have used an external paint sealant on your internal leather seats.
Same here. I haven't done two coats (too much work!) but a single coat is really nice for mettalic colours. Seems to last about 3 months or even a little longer.
It can leave white bits on glass and some matt plastics or where plastic meets glass.
What’s wrong with that, looks mad as!
I hope the insurance paid for the repair.
I would have sold it to the next maker of a Punisher movie
I got a few bottles of this for $19ea a few years back. Pretty good stuff.
It really depends on how you park your car. If it parks in garage or shaded area everyday at night, this type of product can last 6 months or so. But road side parking + direct sun light every day, it lasts 2-3 months. And shorter in summer, longer lasting in winter.
Yep, agree. Also how many kilometres you drive.
Does this work on bathrooms?
Depends on if your bathroom is parked ouside and how many kms you drive it each year :P
I could use a slippery surface on the bottom of the bowl
I put turtle wax ceramic on my shower so the water beads off. Only been on for a few days will be interesting how long it lasts. It definitely beads the water.
Put it in your toilet bowl for less skids - turdle wax.
I spat my coffee
I have been using Meguiars Ultimate Quik Wax for many years after each wash and the car still has silky smooth surface and water just beads off it … I might try this to compare. thanks for the post.
my roof got a little piece , around 12cm x 6cm , the colour gone dull, and not reflective , will this help?
nope.
No you need a cutting compound, try Meguiar's Ultimate compound followed by a coat of wax to protect the paint.
I would definitely consider TurtleWax 53409 Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Spray Coating Wax over this. Cheaper, doesn't need to come from overseas and many reviews say that it performs much better over a period of time.
Yeah it's was tested on projectfarm, came out ahead of all.
how about Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Pro Max Wax?
At the current in store price of Max Wax at supercheap, I’d be inclined to go with Max Wax.
But keep an eye out for the Turtle wax ceramic spray on special in the meantime.
thanks! As usual, the best deal is in the comments. Going to watch the project farm review them pick up a bottle
But I always thought you can't mix wax and ceramic, because ceramic over the top of wax doesn't stick. It's quite confusing, because ceramic is often advertised as some form of permanent coat (even for the non-professional ones). So I'm reluctant to use the shampoo containing wax that I still have, in case it messes with future attempts to put a ceramic coat.
Yeah don't layer but don't get overly worried if you do. This is a cheap diy. Pros not using ozbargain.com.au to inform their purchases
Looking at something similar (easy to use) to seal leaky gutters
I have this and it works really well.
It's been as cheap as $19 in the past.
Ceramic coatings are old school. Like using candle wax on your car. Go for a Graphene spray like Turtle Wax Ice and Shine. Cheap too and works well
Would this product be better in terms of value for money? Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Wet Wax https://amzn.asia/d/8eSENf9
I have bought this a couple of years ago, and a new bottle a few days back at this same price. I am quite impressed with this, and it seems to last quite well on my car. It is easy to apply, and with my car it also works well on the external plastics. I don't like it on windows, though. It caused a lot of streaking and fogging up.
The CMX Wash & Coat was $26 a few days back, but now more expensive again.
It's hard to find the perfect ceramic coating - so many conflicting reviews. So I stuck with this because it does the job and is affordable. I recommend putting two coats, at least a day apart.
