ST14000NM001G Seagate Exos 14TB 3.5 X16 512e Enterprise Internal SATA Hard Drive
How? Can you explain? Are they higher quality?
I bought 2x "Seagate Exos 14TB ST14000NM001G 3.5 X16 512e Enterprise Internal SATA Hard Drive" on the 3/3/24 arrived in 6 days came very well packaged so no issues there. I have put them in my unraid server and head flying hours are sitting on 635h+44m+02.566s. 1 is as parity so its constantly being written to LBAS Written "39554405824 (20.3 TB)" around the same read. The other drive has been added as an extra drive its done the same hours and "28025974824 (14.3 TB)" Written and around the same read.
On the 28/3/24 bought another 2x of the same drive they came in about 5 days. These drives i haven't put in yet I'm adding one drive and keeping one as a spare. Unless i decide to buy another two next month. I need to replace some 10 year old 3TB drives.
As for noise concerns.. I have an unraid array of 21 drives… eh sounds the same and it lives in the spare room so i don't notice it.
As for site being a scam. Totally NOT a scam. I created an account and there is an order history page with both my orders in it. No invoice were sent with the items. As for warranty others on OZBargain said they had no issues with them and some of the posts were quite old. Considering how much your saving, Pick up some extra shifts at work and pick up an extra drive as a spare :)
If your truly worried about being scammed do yourself a favor and get a credit card were you have buyers protection online or use paypal were you can get a refund on items not received. Be smart that's all i can say.
Cheers
Ozbargain comments section alone show this isn't a scam. And comments like yours just reinforce this. Those calling this a scam must either be very new here or competitors.
Is EastDigital our version of serverpartdeals now?
BTW - has anyone tried buying drives from mujitech on eBay AU?
Do they actually honor the local 3 year warranty or is it bogus?
Try asking that question in another two years.
I purchased a 16TB Exos in the last deal. When it arrived (roughly a week) it was DOA. I messaged support and was given a PO box here in VIC to return to. Waited 2 weeks for the replacement to arrive. This disk was also DOA and needed to be sent back. Currently waiting for the replacement to arrive … hoping third time lucky.
Unlucky. But DOA has definitely been known to happen, there's usually an odd post here and there about it on each of these deals and always ends up with the seller getting what they're after(eventually).
Yeah they have been good to deal with. Just unlucky getting two dead drives in a row. Fingers crossed for the third.
Quick question. Did they pay for the return shipping?
The first time they offered a credit for the shipping amount, this time they are reimbursing me.
I got one in the last deal. Finally got around to opening it and now running a check for bad sectors. 20% complete and all clear so far. The drive looks brand new to me.
any idea if this works with eufy homebase 3?
OOS?
the x18 16tb is only an extra $5 FYI
Anddd back in stock. First time buying a Seagate in years, all their models sound the same. They've got almost 10 16TB variations on the site.
I bought 2 Exos X16 14tb drives off these guys when it was on sale for $233 back in Feb, they then emailed saying they actually don't have any stock left despite what the website said and just cancelled my order and offered me the more expensive model for compensation. I said no thanks I want my original order recognised, tell me when they're back in stock. Now its back in stock I email the rep and they're telling to purchase the 14tb drive at the new price of $259 which is more than the 16tb??
People who own, anyone know how the noise compares to a 5400 rpm 3TB WD Red?
Have a couple of the older WD Reds (WD3009FYPX-09AAMB0), which on the spec sheet says 24 dBA / 29dBA on idle/seek. Couldn't find anything on the Seagate Exos
Was thinking of replacing them with this on my desktop that sits next to me.
Weren't these guys the suppliers of the old HDD group buys?
They were a while ago.
Do they send order confirmation? I ordered on 4 days ago and only have paypal confirmation.
Now $244, not worth it.
Back to $267, RIP
Bought 2x 16TB X18s as X16 were out of stock, badblocks
just finished testing first one with zero errors (took 8 days!), onto the second one, so far so good.
Best packaging I have EVER seen for hard drives shipped in the mail.
Hi Ozbargainers - how did these work out for any of you that purchased?
there's an 18tb hc550 on ebay for like 320, way better deal
