More Sunday arvo Amazon deals and this time there's a 90W USB Car Charger offering 3 USB-C ports and 3 USB-A ports. A good choice if you have kids in the back that want to charge their devices on a road trip.

There's also an insulated thermos on sale with a Magsafe mount ontop so that you can use it as a phone stand. There's adhesive magnetic mounts if you don't have a Magsafe iPhone. A bit of a weird one I know!

      Found the specs for you. 30W is being delivered at 12V/2.5A on the USB-C port. A 12V socket will do this just fine.

          12V sockets are fused at 10-15amps so that would allow 120-180W.

            @Clear: yes. Don't shoot the messenger, but these cheap chargers normally don't boost, and base claims on ideal conditions, including 24V supply.
            That might be important to somebody.

            Many laptops require [email protected], though my Surface Pro copes with 12V in, so would work with this.
            Would be nice if they were more clear on the specs. Caveat Emptor.

    Bought one of these chargers recently. While stuff does charge, I highly doubt the PD or QC claims. Charging was quite slow.

      It’s a very good idea, no longer have to worry about losing the phone, but I already have a lot of water bottles… Would be nice if they come up with a cap replacement. That won’t work I guess because most of my bottles weigh less than 680g.

    Bought one for my 2018 mazda cx5 but I can’t get on Apple car play using the usb-c port on the car charger (it does charge though). Previously plugged straight into the cars usb-a port.

      The USB-A port in your car would be linked to the display unit of the car and capable of transferring data for Carplay. The 12V (or 24V) socket of your car is only transferring power for charging and not linked to the display.
