    Don't take photos…

    a Jetstar staff member shouted at him and called him an idiot.

      Man breaks rules. Man is confused and upset when told off for breaking rules. News at 11.

      • -7

        So it's OK for staff to call a customer an idiot for taking a photo?

        • +1

          At no point did I state that.

          • -4

            @beatthatflight: He wasn't aware of this 'rule' and there was no signage.

            • +3

              @jv: He's acknowledged they announced it, and having worked at Sydney airport myself, there are most definitely signs.

              • -4

                @beatthatflight:

                He's acknowledged they announced it

                quote :

                “I didn’t hear it. When I went to the gate, there were no notifications about it, no signage, nothing,” he said.
                “What if I was deaf?

                Deaf people can't hear announcements…

                • @jv: He's not deaf.

                  If you read any of the other articles other than news.com.au, the airline points out deaf people tend to a) notify staff / have it on their file and b) are generally looking for info given they can't hear it.

                  From 7News: Mitchell said an announcement had been made informing passengers of the rule, however he had noise-cancelling headphones on at the time, and therefore didn’t hear it. Confirming there was an announcement.

                  He's flown tons before, would absolutely be aware of the rule.

                  Instead of going to Jetstar to raise this, he goes to his influencer account. Drawing traffic.

              @jv: @jv backing what the rep said, most airports I've been to in Australia have it plastered everywhere. He just didn't want to see it

              • -7

                @ignited141:

                most airports I've been to in Australia

                Was their signage at this particular Jetstar gate?

                He just didn't want to see it

                Prove it.

      Damn I always take a pic of my son infornt if plane, not when taking stairs. Didn't know it's illegal 😔

      • +1

        Didn't know it's illega

        I've never seen any signage whilst boarding that says you can't.

        We've taken pics too and nobody said anything.

          Its like vaping on the tarmac, only a few airports have signs saying that you cant, and if you look closely to the legislation, it doesnt actually say you cant vape on the tarmac.

          • +1

            @BatmanAU:

            it doesnt actually say you cant vape on the tarmac.

            There are no smoking signs.

            • @jv: Smoking isn’t vaping, again if you look at the legislation, vaping doesn’t contain the potential flame component

              • @BatmanAU:

                Smoking isn’t vaping

                Under Victoria's Tobacco Act 1987 they are treated the same…

                • @jv: That might be the case, but tobacco act doesn’t override the aviation act due to it being Commonwealth lands, or so I read, anyway I’ve lost interest lol

                  • @BatmanAU: smoking laws apply on Commonwealth lands

    $34 to have your flight cancelled and bags lost seems like an incredible bargain!
    I'd prefer to buy two aldi hoodies and imagine I'm shopping in Berlin.

      lower cancellation rate than Virgin and Qantas…. https://www.bitre.gov.au/statistics/aviation/otp_month

      Delayed for 3 hours but refused to provide meal vouchers at airport. Only provided credit days after when showed their own policy page and threatened with going to Australian Airline Customer Advocate.

      • Delayed for 3 hours but refused to provide meal vouchers at airport.

        Try 3 cancellations and 17 hour delay… Thanks Jetstar…

      • Do Jetstar's own T&Cs directly provide for any meal/vouchers. Maybe I missed it but the only policy I saw was:

        on the day you're due to travel we have confirmed a delay of more than 45 minutes or we cancel your flight, and we are aware of the delay or cancellation more than two hours before the scheduled departure time, then we commit to:
        advising you or your travel agent via SMS using the relevant contact details provided in your booking; and
        if your flight is cancelled, offering alternative transport arrangements to get you to your destination at no additional cost to you, usually on the next available Jetstar flight before or after your booked flight.

        If we fail to meet this commitment, contact us and we'll provide you with a $50 Jetstar travel voucher. View voucher information and full details.

        So provided they informed you if they knew, you'd get the $50…
