      • Mine did come in at the end…just a nit late.

        • how long did it take to arrive?

  • This Cashback offer does not appear in the Bank of Melbourne web page. Can I open a St George Freedom account with Victorian address and get the cashback offer?

  • The $40 spend can be over multiple transactions right?

  • So I got no cashback after two consecutive months of spending $40 each month. Contacted chat support and the response I got was

"If eligible, you will receive $10 into your Complete Freedom account for each month that you complete the minimum $40 spend requirement and the cashback reward will be credited to your account by the end of the following month"

Chat said this means that you will only receive the rebate after spending $40 for 4 months and cashback will be at the end of the following month.

Not sure how true this is though or is chat making this up?

    • Each person you speak to is confused with the promotion. I've spoken to at least 4 sales people, and one has said the same thing you said. I told them that it doesn't sound right. How can you spend $40 for 4 months and only credited with $40 the month after? It clearly states "spend over $40 and get credited $10 in the following month". They then agreed that what they told me wasn't right, but to expect the $10 credit in the following month. If that doesn't go through, then contact them again.

I've just called them 3 times today already.

1st call - Rude sales person. They reiterated what you said. When I told them that their interpretation was incorrect, I asked to speak to their manager and they responded, "I don't have a manager available", then they just hung up.
2nd call - Was passed to the sales team, and the sales person reiterated the same thing. They then asked me if I wanted to speak to the manager, which I was then placed on hold. After a few minutes the call disconnected again
3rd call - They saw the remark that was made on my account. It stated that the call was disconnected accidentally, and that my complaint has been forward to Everyday banking department which will then credit the $10 if successful. They told me to wait till next Monday if it hasn't been credited.

A lot of hassle for something that is supposed to be automated.

Each sales person seems to have different intepretations of this current promotion.

Instructions on how to contact customer service:
      1. Call 133330
      2. Press 2
      3. Press # (you do not need to enter customer number)
      4. Quote "Internet banking"
      5. Quote "Setting up"

  • 1. The offer will commence the calendar month following the successful account opening of your Complete Freedom account.
    2. Payment must be contactless or online, using your debit card linked to your Complete Freedom account.

Based on the above T and Cs can someone confirm the below:

    1. I just opened my account and received my card today 19/07/2024. So i have to wait until the 1st of August since the offer commences the following month to spend my 40?
    2. Tap and go (for "contactless" condition) is all good as long as its from my physical card and not mobile?

    • +1

can't answer 1 as I did wait till the next month to use it. As for 2, I have used it via mobile contactless tap twice now and have received both the cashback. I've also used it once via coles online shop and have received the cashback too.

      • appreciate the info. Ill use it at Coles tomorrow so effectively I'll have waited until the next month too so no harm there :) Ive been using this card a tonne for cashback deals on shopback anyway so its already made my time opening it worth it

  • Just wondering, has anyone here purchased gift cards from Coles or Woolies and received the $10 cashback? If so, did you buy just a single $40 gift card on its own or did you have other items in the transaction too?

I know the T&Cs says "the purchase of gift card in a single transaction" is ineligible, but I'm interested to see whether anyone out there has had any success despite what the T&Cs say

$40 Coles Myer gift card each time. No other items. They have no way of knowing.

      • Legend, appreciate the reply 👍🏻

Just one other thing, I'm guessing the $40 gift card would have been the only purchase you would have made on the card within the month?

        • +1

Only use the card for $40 shop at Coles and also ShopBack StG gift card offers

  • Does anyone get their bonus recently? How long does it take for them to credit the $10? I opened an account back in Feb and it took them like 3-4 business days to credit the bonus. I recently opened a new account for my spouse in Jun and spent >$40 in Jul but still hasn't received the bonus yet.

  • Got my $10 from May (manually credited), but only after opening 2 complaints. Live chat just kept saying to wait. The complaints person took weeks to contact me, well after the 6 business days they promised, said they would manually credit the $10.

    • Same here. Mine was manually credited last Friday for a transaction in May. I had called them multiple times. Each time each sales person had a different interpretation of the promotion.

  • My $40 was done in June and nothing came yet. I called twice. They told me different things and have no idea about how the credit/promotion works. Told me to wait.

  • Opened account in April, spent over $40 in store same month and online in May. Got no credit in June, so gave up and did not spend again at either Coles or Woolworths. Now, without any prior contact, got two lots of $10 credit for "grocery offer" on 24th and 26th Aug. Can't work out how this promo works, but will spend again just in case!

    • Don't worry, most St George staff don't understand how it works either lol. I've spoken to at least 5 different sales consultants and each have a different interpretation on how this promotion works.

      • Same.
