  • These will be on run-out soon. More can be saved, but not too bad if you want one today.

    • appliance central put up their 42 from ~1300 to 1400 :/ I would grab one now at 1300 but not any higher

      • Give them a call and make an offer. I highly doubt they'll lose a sale over $100.

      • Where the sun $1000 deals from last year? 😭

  • LG OLED or Samsung QLED?

    • The former me would typically reply with "OLED > QLED" but after going back to my old edge-lit VA panel, I just can't say that anymore. Will it be in a dark or bright environment?

      • Mostly bright environment.

Ok, well unless you're buying a A95L, S95C or G3, I wouldn't bother with OLED. I'm sure you'll get a dozen people saying lower models are perfectly adequate for a bright environment and that's up to you if you want to believe that or not. If you have a lot of natural light, I would be looking at the QN90C. It's a bloody light cannon. Just remember that it doesn't have Dolby Vision which is something else you'll no doubt be told. If you're on a budget, also consider Mini LED offerings by Hisense and TCL.

@1r4n14n: What a terribly uneducated call

            • @hessels92: Ok bro. Thanks for your insight.

@1r4n14n: Oled is far superior to all other tvs the c3 can easily reach 1000 nits of brightness I would be happy to recommend it if you were cornered the a s90c would be as bright as any led tvs and with oled benefits

If you are in the price category of oleds nothing else should be an option. If you were looking to save some $ I would be buying a tcl c845

@hessels92: I own a C2 and @1r4n14n is making sense. I hate brightness so OLED is a perfect match for me but if you want good bright image in a totally sunlit room the mid-range OLEDs with just 1000nits peak don't cut it. Top range models are better.
On the other hand I hate sitting in a dark room and seeing the grey glare of the LCDs around the movie image.
So the advice is right: You have to consider how bright your actual viewing environment is and whether you plan to enjoy the TV more during the evening or day

  • Looks like we won't be getting those sub $1300 deals on the 42" this year? Was hoping we might get below $1K again…

  • VP deals are only good for QLD customers. Delivery fee to other states kills it IMO.
