  • What is the model #? Specs? Price? My head hurts

    Edit: Amended very quickly noice

    • refresh the page, ozbargain automatically fix that for me

  • Someone will ask if the RAM is upgradeable.

    • +1

Yeah i dont see why not, theres 2 slot and you should be able to upgrade to a maximum DDR4-3200 64gb

    • in a way, you did.

  • -1

Anything under a 3060 is not a gaming laptop.

    • Please tell me youre joking

      • If today wasn't the 3rd alrdy I would have thought this post was a joke…

    • +3

People will say this then exclusively play things like Minecraft or Football Manager

    • I think that's a smidge harsh tbh, id rather the gaming moniker is better off being dropped altogether cause theoretically with the new Iris and Radeon anything released now is a "gaming computer", even the new M chips from apple are perfectly capable at light-medium gaming load. It would be more beneficial if we get rid of the gaming name and push for component manufacturing companies to make it easier to compare different devices and levels of performance - but being convoluted and confusing is part of Intel/AMD/Nvidias sales tactic so itll take a decent push.

  • Scorptec is another cheapest option if you dont have costco membership https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/laptops-&-notebooks/gami…

  • This the model that has overheating issues ?

  • What % sRGB? Can't find it anywhere, which along with the price suggests it's low. Also no USB-C charging, which is my other dealbreaker

    • from comments on reddit they are saying its 70% sRGB

    • +3

45% ntsc as is always with low end MSIs. That would translate to about 62.5% srgb but this varies a lot. Will look washed out, but again at 800$ there isnt a whole lot you can ask for.

  • +4

Please don't. The RTX2050 is garbage for $829.99.

Save up for a RTX4050. Just for DLSS.

  • +6

Yeah and it's at this price for a reason. Years un-updated chassis and the worst build quality known to man.

Let's just say you get what you pay for 800$. Albeit I would just either save up for a 1k lappy or go with one of those techfast prebuilt desktops if I only have 800$ and wanted a gaming rig.

    • what do you recommend for $1000 laptop?

      • +1

Look up past deals on here.

Would recommend waiting for nitro Vs, which are often on sale nowadays for around 1k. not perfect, but packed with a 4050 which is far better, especially at these lower wattages lower end rigs run at, 40 gen is pretty power efficient compared to a 2050/3050 and that 6gb vram does mean you can play some actual current gen triple A titles at acceptable frames. DLSS3 as well

Nitro 5 4060 were about 1.2k or a bit more, new nitros have full powered 4060, so definitely worth it, sans the screen which sadly possesses all gaming laptops at this point.

If you want an all rounder - 4050 LOQ with the QHD screen is on sale with cashback for 1.2-1.3k.

    In before @Brrrrt unleashes

Since there are no bad products, only bad prices, a new GF63 with 2050 4GB is a deal at around… $600

    • +1

Can you find another laptop under $1000 with a better spec? I'll get the popcorns

      • Not under $1K but it has an rtx3050 over a 2050.

If you need a gaming laptop right now, feel free to ask for advice with your requirements in the Computing forum

When there is a good gaming laptop deal - regardless of price/spec and as judged by the community and not your own personal ramblings - you will see it on the OzBargain front page

Here are a few examples of laptops <$1k in the past that would reck this laptop in gaming performance.

Can you still get them at that price? No. but the whole point of ozbargain is to draw attention to deals that are EXCEPTIONALLY good value for money, not what you can get the cheapest at a point in time.

its both mate.. you can have your own definition of what ozbargain is but dont expect thats what people think what this page is for.. Everyone have their own opinion what a bargain is. It could be the cheapest value or an EXCEPTIONALLY GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY there is no right or wrong answer and fortunately for everyone you dont determine that
