I have several of these - they are SLOW.
For 8gb+ capacity seriously consider a USB 3.0 like the Master drives which I have found very good…

these crap are way too slow :( worse than my Kingston one…
Not half bad brother.
Just be careful about their stock levels. My local store advised that they had no stock of another usb stick deal. Says that "3 have gone missing".
Suggest you order by pickup before wasting time visiting. While annoying at least that saved the petrol and time finding out.
I have usb toshiba 2GB and it's super slowwwwwwwww
i have a 4gb toshiba usb. the one I got for 2 dollar at HN awhile ago. Great for uni work. Unless you use it for running games outside of home, or copying large files, this is not recommended.
There's a reason why they're clearing this out, it's slow as hell!
besides being slow.. they do not last.
Yes i agree as my kids keep taking them to use :)
Agreed, these guys are very unreliable. I've had multiple failures where the drive becomes unreadable.
where the drive becomes unreadable.
can confirmed this, got the same problem.
Can only think of one use of it. Using it to install Mac OSX or Windows 7/8. Yes, these are slow, but compared to installing OS from a DVD, USB sticks are considerably faster (faster seek time, random access).
Bought the 4GB one for $1 (from one of the earlier OZB deals)… using it as a replacement for DVD-R.
Agree. Anyone (mostly Gen-Z) thinking that this is slow, you haven't truly experienced 'slow'….
(I still remember installing '95 from floppy)
I still had a couple box of floppy at home that I had not touch for years. Zipping software was very important back in the old days so that big files can be stored onto several floppy disks. Zipping files is now good for internet for transferring files.
Is that you Bill Gates?
Ok if you get them to work. My toshiba 8gb is stuffed straight off the pack
yer there not the best…i bought one a while back and broke around a year later and thats not from abuse or over use, i hardly used the fker…. ~_~
have a 2GB stick
what does flash do
I use it to store data mainly.
newbie
pl give me some links so I can learn rather than search randomly
Mine failed after 1 year. Make sure you keep the receipt in a safe place.
I've generally found the toshiba drives very reliable - use about 8 of them over the past few years for different service tools - no problems at all.
Shame there's no stock anywhere near me though.
still 2.0 but good deal!
