Round 2 thanks to Jaduqimon. Here is the lowest price yet for this previously popular handheld game console that's good for emulating games up to the PS1. While it's not the Plus or Horizontal version I still think it's good value for the low price. I recommend installing GarlicOS on this for a much better experience.

This has a Gameboy inspired design with a classic dpad, 3.5" IPS display with 4:3 aspect ratio, HDMI output, dual MicroSD slots, 3.5mm audio jack, single speaker, USB-C charging and battery life up to 5 hours. In terms of size it's smaller than the RG353V and bigger than the Miyoo Mini.

What card doesn't have international fees?

      There's a link in the OP…

Getting people to read past the title is a daily struggle.

        • Don't forget to add tax in title OP 😗

          • @anonym: Most recently someone saying there's price jacking because the price goes up during checkout. Every listing says the price is before tax…

            • @Clear: Aliexpress does do things a little differently compared websites like Amazon and Ebay (the ones with a proper Australian presence), so it is understandable why some people feel cheated when the 10% GST gets tagged on at the very end during checkout.

The pricing inconsistency when prices are converted and displayed in AUD instead of the (more consistent) USD doesn't help much either… 😅

Unsure if it’ll come back in stock, but grabbed a Miyoo Mini Plus for about the same price yesterday. Possibly keep an eye out if that model is of more interest. Current listing I used has the 128GB card only now and costs more than my purchase without additional sd card.

Don’t think either model is clearly better over the other and they trade off pros and cons, such as the Miyoo having WiFi but the RG35XX being a bit more comfortable.

    • I did the same yesterday. Couldn't resist miyoo mini plus for 52 bucks

      • +1

Yeah. And I already had an RG35XX H in the mail from last weeks sale. Wanted to try the different form factors out but also the OS between the two (Onion vs Batocera, which I’ll probably load onto the Anbernic).

        • +1

No regrets. Miyoo mini plus constantly comes up on best devices on many youtubers lists so I am looking forward to it.

  • Is the horizontal one just as good? Seems like discount code doesn't work on the horizontal one

    • +2

The H model has better specs. The firmware options aren’t as good, but progress is being made.

      • No issues here with batocera v40

        • Not 64bit. HDMI sound issues.

    • +1

The RG35XX H (horizontal) is equivalent to the “RG35XX Plus” which as noted has a better processor and includes WiFi so you can get over the air updates etc. The horizontal will be more comfortable likely too I imagine.

This non plus model has a slower processor and lacks WiFi. I can’t remember if the newer ones also have better battery life. Newer models can do some N64 but probably not the entire library.

The H also has analogue sticks which might come handy for some games, especially if you dabble in N64.

  • would love a deal for miyoo mini +

  • RetroArch on your current android smart phone paired with an XBOX controller with a clip from ali-x works a treat. (I have this setup btw)

I was always pondering on why go for a seperate device? portability maybe?

      1. Portable
      2. Save my phone's battery
      3. Shareable - I can hand it off to someone without worrying about them looking at my hardcore nudes photos.
      4. Cheap
      5. Nostalgia
      6. Onscreen controls suck if you don't want to lug around a gamepad.
      • 7 No Bluetooth input lag.

          1. Too wide
      • some of them don't apply to me, but i hear you!.

That's silly. Xbox controller with a clip lol might as well just play on your pc. I ain't gonna carry around an Xbox controller in my pocket or my bag and clip and unclip my phone if I just wana have a quick 15min session on the train.

I have this exact setup and can confirm I never use it.

xbox controller cost more than the whole device

    • Comment above was deleted for apparently being an affiliate link. Unsure if it was or wasn’t…just tried to share a listing using the share feature in the listing via the AliExpress app. My bad maybe, wasn’t my intent to use an affiliate link.

So without including a link…there is a GameSir G8 Galileo included in the sale for $101 before the additional coupon codes that are part of the promotion are applied. I’d personally recommend the GameSir over clipping the phone to an Xbox controller, especially if you don’t already own the Xbox controller. Less top heavy. It’s a fantastic controller if you want to game on your phone.

That said, any experience using a phone is going to be very different to a small dedicated handheld. Much more bulky and not a pocket friendly experience, which is why some people choose to buy these.

Yea, it's a pain in the neck to share AliExpress links on mobile. You gotta paste it web browser, let it take you to the actual item, delete all the extra crap after the "?" and then copy/paste again!

        • Yeah, lesson learnt!

    • Looks like the R36S might be better, since this one is not the plus version; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PIdTcgI24YA

      • R36S has better specs. RG35XX has better build quality since the R36S is a cheap knock off of the RG351.

  • I had this for a few days and decided to sell it. For the price it's great as long as you don't need very precise d-pads (they're also too slim for my liking). I unfortunately do so I got rid of it and got a RG405M instead. Much better but also a lot more pricier. If I were to buy again though, I'd probably go with the Miyoo's for a little more since they feel nicer in the hands and I do like the feel of the d-pads better. If you're buying for kids though, these along with the knockoff R36S are the best choices since you don't need to worry about them breaking.

  • Just got my "H" to replace my R36S. So much more comfortable, especially if you play PS1. Shoulder buttons are easily accessible. I thought the r36s was pretty well built (my first handheld) but the Anbernic really is a step above.

    • Actually, it's not. It's too small.

      • Hmm I was planning to replace r36s with the H but perhaps not
