I'm surprised the traditional gaming companies can still price their peripherals this high when most consumers after premium keyboards have gone to other brands that have customizable switches, keycaps and sound way better to type on. At this point, their main advantages are probably their brand name, latency and possibly software support.

I really like having media controls on my keyboard and unfortunately a lot of the custom boards don't have those sorts of features.

      • define "custom".
My PCB (and many custom keyboards) support QMK/VIA where you can define any key to anything: https://docusaurus.qmk.fm/keycodes_basic/#media-keys

I have it to Fn + Space will play/pause. Works for me on Mac, Windows, Linux and any browser.

Depends how deep you want to get into it

I think once you use a keyboard with a volume scroll wheel, you can't live without it

          • +2

@XxDonniexX: Agree. I moved away from a keyboard with volume wheel, and have since replaced that functionality with a headphone DAC, and looking to build myself a deej volume control panel.

          • @XxDonniexX: Most you get on custom keyboards will be a knob, no dedicated media controls besides that

          • +1

@XxDonniexX: Idk, I've nearly deafened myself before by nudging a volume wheel with my sleeve or something.

Most keyboards have a fn key combo for volume control.

    • The last model had removable switches, but they removed this feature on this model, for this price, better go for ROG.

    Overpriced plastic junk.

its not high quality but if you want to have fastest wireless keyboard out there (not bluetooth) Logitech Lightspeed is defiantly one of the best. use can also use both bluetooth and light speed wireless at the same time switching between devices with a button.

    • Yeah, unfortunately they have brand power and access to local retailers so many avg consumers will buy into the hype. As I posted in another comment, the keys themselves are satisfying and comfy to use, but I cannot recommend them for durability. Easily the least use I've gotten out of a board.

its not a full sized keyboard though.

    • +4

      That's a selling point, not a disadvantage

      • +7

To u maybe but full size keyboard are much better to me especially with a good number pad

        • Logitech does do 100% boards too, if you need the numpad go for it

But these TKLs and smaller do have a market

          • @CrispyChrispy: TKL gang gang. I do like the feel of the romer g switches but I cannot recommend them for durability. My last logi g pro board broke in 2 years. The keycap mechanism that holds into the switch is flimsy plastic and once one of the hooks break off it's GG, plus the caps aren't doubleshot so the coating wears with regular use.

Meanwhile my ducky has been going strong for 4 years and has shrugged off water and pepsi spills like a champ.

        • Most people aren’t working in Excel all day.

  • I had one of these and keys stopped working just after 2 years. Barely used it as well as I've had 2 kids

    • Logitech G quality is s***, speaking from experience. They sound and feel bad and are overpriced but it is what it is

    • That sucks I was looking at buying a Logitech G915 because I was thinking of getting a wireless keyboard but also a big part in that I like the aesthetics of the G915, then I read about the build quality issues and the paint on the key caps fading etc.

I have the original Corsair K65 RGB keyboard (back when Corsair copped a heap for changing their logo to the scimitar) which was like 8-9 years ago and it still works perfectly today as matter of fact just cleaned it out few days ago and the rubberised wrist rest aside the keyboard looks brand new.

  • how is this 2.5 times the price of a RK TKL board er… why would anyone fall for this. 228 is crazy

  • Any recommendations for a decent windows full keyboard with numpad for daily productivity?
