  • Any deals on the wireless thermometer?

    • +3

      yes, $59.99
you can find it in today deals

      • anyone have this? seems to get mixed reviews

        • +3

I got one for Christmas. I had a meater plus before this and had all sorts of issues with it but very pleased with the Inkbird version. All of the features of the meater plus with none of the flaws people complain about at a much lower price! Connectivity is good and readings are accurate. Has excellent battery life as well.

      • +1

Thanks for sharing I grabbed this one as well as the other probe.

    • Any deals on the wireless thermometer?

This one doesn't have any wires.

  • +14

    From the product page:

180℃ rotation design: the probe of INKBIRD IHT-1P is designed with 180℃ rotation and we can use it to read food temperatures from any angle we want based on our practical use contexts.

So for the folk in North America, this can rotate almost 360°F.

      • 453 kelvin

    • +1

That's some hot rotation, right there 🤣

  • +1

This one does actually work well

  • +1

Thanks, bought IR gun. Out of curiosity what are the differences between all the models?

    Thanks!

      • Thats some really good info, Just looked up pizza stone it looks pretty low but if well seasoned it looks to go up to pretty high. Will have to see haha.

  • +7

Highly recommended. Wife never measured the temp on anything in her life, now she can't live without this, everything has to be perfect internal temp.

I thought ours was broken but turns out you need to charge it with a specific type of USB charger.

    • +1

Yeah weird, I have two devices with this requirement. Use the original cable or possibly any USB a to c.

      • Yeah it won't charge on high powered usb ports. Works fine on all of my old usb a cables.

        • I've charged mine on a Macbook Pro USB-C to USB-C cable.

    • I think our wives are related lol.

      • +7

That's no coincidence. I reckon you're both married to the same wife.

        • Wait a minute that's 3 different usernames. Good on you for up-cycle wife

        • And I paid full price 😭

    • I've got one, just bought a back-up as well as the wireless Meater-style one. From my experimentation, if the wattage of the USB charger is too high it just won't charge. So best option is to use the worst one you have. The battery is small so will charge quickly anyway

Inkbird are a very reputable company, i've got probably 15 of their products bought over the years.

    • +1

You’ll need to be more specific and substantiate your claim.

        • +1

that's the opening sales giveaway. only 0.1 for the chance to join the giveaway.

  • Ive had mine for a few years and its been fantastic, way better than my thermapen
I bought from the inkbird ebay store in aus and was around 16 dollars though

    • Curious. How/why is this better than your thermapen?

      • +2

No chance this is better than a thermapen. It definitely does the job and is accurate, but nowhere near as fast.

        • Yeah that was my assumption too. Just curious to see how Rrppper came up with this conclusion.

      • Cause my inkbird was 16 dollars delivered and my thermapen was 130 dollars. Both do exactly the same thing.
I've had really good experiences with inkbird tooi use devices for homebrew, bbq, aquarium and this thing

      • Not a chance, i own a couple of both these and Thermapens, i will only use Thermapens at work, better value, sure why not, better quality, not a chance, he dreamin

  • Do these work on bugs too? Just trying to future proof

    • sure does.

      Other uses:
      - bug spear
      - bug spit roast (with built-in bug thermometer)
      - slate pen

    • Whomp, whomp.

  • Awesome. Been wanting the wireless one for ages. Purchased

  • Just bought a Weber Q and was after a thermometer for reverse sear. Any probes people recommended on the cheap

  • Great thermometer! No brainer at this price.

I've owned mine for 3 years and my $160 Thermapen sits in the drawer unused. Not because the Thermapen is bad by any means, but the Inkbird is rechargeable whereas the Thermapen needs new batteries :)

  • Has anyone used their sous vide and can provide any comment on it?

    • +1

The sous vide is great. Have had mine for about 3 years and use it every week. Connects to wifi and I like being able to keep an eye on it with my phone.

    • i use mine for steak chicken breast but mainly onsen eggs i really like it

    • Love it. Easy to use and reliable

  • My Thermapen is on the fritz…grabbed one as backup, cheers!

  • i melted mine like a idiot lol new one here i come

    • +1

Get two just in case :)

      • Good idea 😎

  • +1

I paid $19.99 for this last week on Amazon… Ugh

  • Got the 4 prong one from inkbird. Great quality and quick readings.

  • These are phenomenal, highly recommended.

  • +2

Good but keep in mind they are not IP68. If they fall in the sink they will die.

Why is PayPal only payment option?

    • you can pay to my paypal though Bank cards

  • Can't pay via paypal unless you have a paypal account. The 'don't have a paypal account' option just sends you on a roundabout to open an account. Disappointing. Won't be purchasing.

    • We only accept paypal, but you can pay to my paypal though Bank cards. This is to protect your transactions.

      • Unless I'm missing something it looks like paying via the paypal portal is the only way to complete the transaction. In this popup I tried to select the option of paying with a card without having an account but it just said process failed after trying to verification and I needed to open an account to continue.

    • That's odd, I literally made an order last night using the same process on Paypal's popup portal via. guest checkout/transaction with my card, explicitly asking not to save my details or create an account and it was all fine.

      • I just tried again and got the same problem as before. Did you verify via email or phone number?

  • Thanks OP. Broden'd 5 of them (two for me and 3 for friends!!)

  • Will this (meat thermometer) be accurate in measuring water temp? The cheap digital thermometer I use to meaure the temps in my aquariums is on the way out and I'm looking for a more reliable replacement. I did see the floating pool thermometers but I don't need something to stay in the tanks permanently.

  • So, Inkbird is another tuya sub-app compatible with my existing google home / home assistant?

The smart pool thermometer looks good but almost double the price of the non smart one. Hope they are the same at 1/2 prices.

As a thank you - Your 15% discount code is: WELCOME

The code seems not to be used on your au website?

    • +1

I have the WIFI Gateway IBS-M2 with IBS-P02R. While the Tuya app can add the gateway, I was unable to get any of the Home Assistant Local Tuya integrations to be able to pull anything of value from it. I eventually got it to work by using the Tuya API directly (requires cloud) and some clever scripts shared by the community to translate their weird temperature values into Celsius.

I think it would be notably easier to get the Bluetooth thermometer and use ESPHome, but I had already invested in the RF one (IBS-P02R).

One final suggestion is to make sure you disable the default humidity and temperature alerts WHILE it's connected to the Inkbird app BEFORE you remove and connect it to Tuya, otherwise you get these horrible alerts at 80% humidity.

It's a shame that Inkbird isn't trying to be a better network citizen. Otherwise, they're just yet another company forcing you to use their own, proprietary, cloud-based, sub-standard app.

    • hi, the pool thermometer is the final price, cannot use any code

  • Thanks OP grabbed one

  • Just bought me some goodies 😀

  • Will this do both Fahrenheit and Celsius?

  • There are a few meat probes for continuous monitoring. Can anyone advise from experience which they would recommend? Much appreciated

    • +1

Their Wi-Fi 4 probe one is great. BUT it only works on 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and is incredibly finnicky about getting the phone app connected. If you don't use the thermometer for a while, or the app gets updated, you have to set everything up again and probably re-register an account with them. It's infuriating as hell.

  • Couldn't see a max temp, does anyone know? Wondering if it can be used as a candy thermometer.

  • Thanks OP
Been waiting for the vacuum sealer to drop in price.
Already had a wireless thermometer (to replace my 2 x meater that melted) just bought another one. Great price for it.
    - the app is not as good as Meater but it has improved since they started

  • OP can I put it in my dogs anus to measure body temperature?

    • +10

      no please

    • +1

Somebody drank too much in the eve of Good Friday.

  • Is this rec. for testing the temp of hots foods before refridgerating and freezing? Eg soups, curries, meats, etc

    • +2

I can't be sure if I get your use-case right, but these thermometres are excellent for testing temperatures.

  • What is the temp range?
Can this be used for candy?

    • yes ,range -50C to +300C

  • Got one for free from Ali once with another small purchase. Works fine. Probably a bit expensive but local delivery.

  • I have one of these, works great, recommended. I have this attached to the side of my fridge (magnetic) for easy access.

  • I got the next model up from this awhile ago and very happy with it … It's the white unit. I believe quicker reading

  • Great timing, was literally looking for a wireless thermometer last night! Got the INT-11P-B - heard some great things !

  • Thinking of getting the IR sensor for cake… I'm a bit sick of poking holes in my cake to test for doneness. Anyone know if they have oven thermometers (the ones you can leave inside your oven)?

    • 61%OFF $59.99 Wireless INT-11P-B  this one

  • I have a cheap knockoff of the IHT-1P.
    It uses batteries.
I use rechargeables but I have to make sure they are charged before I use it.
    It's definately NOT instant read.
In fact it seems to often not lock on a temp.
it just keeps increasing by .1 degC.
I guess it would eventually settle on a temp, but I don't have that much time when cooking.
Ordered one of these, looking forward to 3 to 5 sec readings.

  • looks like OOS

  • it's sold out, any chance for more stock?

    • +2

      restock now

  • Just received mine and there's a lot of resistance when trying to unfold the probe. It feels like it won't take long to break it, I've had a similar thermometer fail this way before, even being careful about not using too much force. Anyone else with this problem?

    • there's a lot of resistance when trying to unfold the probe.

Same here, I noticed the same.

It seems much less polished than my existing probe. But it was dirt cheap, I guess.

      • +1

I emailed them and they asked for a video so I made one showing the inkbird require 500g or so to close the probe compared to another thermometer that required 30g of force.

They just told me that this is normal and that if it breaks they'll replace it.

        • Interesting test. I just did the same.

My normal (budget) thermopen takes 300g to close. The Inkbird measured at a whopping 600g even though the arm is much longer.

I don't get the feeling it's any more likely to break, just get the feeling that a pretty no-frills product.

  • OOS

  • Mine arrived.

It's… okay. Definitely not as fast as my Lavatools Javelin, and far bulkier and clunkier to use.

    Good for a backup tool.
