We got a haier because wanted 9kg and there weren't any good deals on 9. But it's another of the cheapo brands yet hasn't skipped a beat. Use it multiple times a day also have kids. Only had it about a year though.
Haier own Fisher and Paykel.
The FP washing machine we have is pretty great too so consider me a fan.
Surprising since heat pumps typically take twice as long to dry. Must have been forever.
I've heard a lot of complaints about this but I never really have a problem, about 1-1.5 hours to dry any load I've ever put in it.
edit: I have the older 7kg version. 3.5 years, still running strong.
The electrolux kicked out so much moisture and we had different definitions about what classed as damp clothes when it was finished, i would say still too wet… Took easily 3 hours to dry.
Heat pump variant got that down by half.
I was not expecting much for the price but does the job and easy enough to clean. Electrolux was never great to be honest was a good upgrade for me.
How can a heat pump cut down drying time? They do the exact opposite of a conventional dryer.
They take freaking ages.
@Maz78: Our Miele Heat pump dryer takes about 1 hour and 15 min for a full load. Clothes come out nice & dry. Power usage is fairly low and it's not to noisy.
Also has a 20 minute warm air function that's great for finishing off stuff that is nearly dry.
Having also just got a Heat pump Hot water service, I'm a big fan of heat pumps.
I could be wrong but I have a suspicion that perhaps this comparison is to American style natural gas dryers and that all pure electric ones are a similar speed?
The heat pump I have (Kogan) is just as fast as any other electric dryer I have used. Where did you hear that?
convinced me to replace my electrolux dryer with the exact issues…
I bought an Esatto range hood.
Started playing up and getting noisy after only 3 months.
Esatto is rubbish if you ask for my experience
Truly Esatto heat pump is the king of budget dryers.
I am looking for lint filter for my 2 year old esatto. Any suggestions?
Where have you looked so far?
Google. With no luck. An AliExpress listing showed up but it looked different to mine.
Do you have any suggestion?
Esatto Support?
Call or email the distributor, Residentia Group
support(at)residentiagroup.com.au . Also possible you may be able to salvage the part from a broken unit, or from a compatible rebadge such as the Solt and Stirling which even have the same model number I think.
Extra $ 141.00 rebate if you get it delivered to SA
https://yess.net.au/our-services/appliance-rebate/check-by-b…
I’m in SA and eBay is saying it doesn’t deliver :(
That sucks
I just scored it for $577 delivered to SA after chatting with support
Well done! Hope you get the YESS rebate as well
was it throught ebay or via website?
@softkun123: It was through the website.
I claimed this Rebate, it takes forever but does come through
Whats the best heat pump if price isnt an issue?
I’m an asko fanboy but to be honest I’m not an expert
sir this is ozbargain
Probably Bosch ones that are made in Germany?
I have a Bosch, they're made in Poland. Washers are made in either Germany or China, depending on model. The more expensive ones (900+) are from Germany..
I've got the washer too, and they've been fantastic.
Bought one of these this morning (as per this deal). Being delivered tomorrow hopefully.
It says on the eBay description that it's not able to be wall mounted. Maybe too heavy?
If you're not kidding….then the instructions given with all the heat pumps I've ever looked at is - NOT wall mountable.
Can you stack them on a washing machine?
Yes as long as your washing machine doesnt try to run away like mine … Lol
You can buy stacker kits to lock them in place. I think there are generic ones, but I got the Bosch specific one.
I got an anti vibration mats between washer and dryer for around 3 years, didn’t move at all. (Dryer top, washer bottom), paid around $20 from the good guys, not sure if they are still selling them.
The answer depends on the structural strength of your wall. Concrete or brick walls yes. Plasta wall.. Depending on the structural support behind the plasta.
Does anyone know what type of belt these take? The one in mind snapped last week and is out of warranty 😞
Aside from that, these are pretty good dryers
I'm in the same boat, mine snaped and 7PH1965 is the belt code that I can see.
7 is the number of ribs on belt
PH is the profile of the belt
1965 is the length in mm
On ebay you'll find some limited options from Aus.
(Note: the Aldi sterling 8kg dryer one is 7PH1956 - this is not the same size unfortunately as there are way more buying options… )
Don't do it. Thank god I got mine from bunnings (albeit at $699) got my money back after one stopped spinning after 6 months. Had aprotracted repair with them and no customer service and bunnings game my money back. Thanks god
Got a Electrolux 6kg Sensor Dryer for $347 price beat… never looked back and clothes dry in an hr again and no dirty heat pump. condersor filter to clean which always smelt.
Eyeing this one off too, seems like it gets good reviews. I have an Electrolux washing machine it's still going strong since 2008, impressive brand
In 2008 Electrolux manufacturered their whitegoods in Orange NSW. Wouldn't expect a 2023 Electrolux to be anywhere near as good as 2008 Electrolux

Heat pump dryers are much more cost efficient
With shrunken clothes and a much bigger power bill. There is absolutely no point comparing heat pump to resistive dryer, they are completely different tools.
If you don't want a walls covered in moisture, potential damage to your cabinetry if you want to preserve the life of your clothes and use far less power, buy a heat pump dryer.
The alternative is to open up your outside laundry door, but in the middle of winter, that will do wonders for your warming bill.
Very happy with mine. Ive had it since September.
The dog loves it as it heats the laundry when it’s on while she lays nearby.
I had this provided from Aldi as a replacement when their heat pump dryer died after 12 months. Its been faultless since owning it. Would definitely recommend it!
Would also recommend, ours has been going for two years straight so far with no signs of slowing down. Runs at for the good part of the day (bnb cleaning service)
Do they still take your old one for free through ebay?
Yes, the delivery man offered to put ontop of my washing machine and also take away the old one.
Did you need to have a mat or anything like that in between?
Yeah I got a rubber mat …
Thnaks ! ordered
Bought one. Thanks OP.
Still feel like an OzB failure since it's not lowest price ever though. I'm laying that blame on OP.
Considering inflation is running at 3.4% p.a. and the $555 deal was posted 4 months ago, this deal is actually about $4 cheaper in March 2024 dollars.
This is heavy. 50+ Kg compared to the typical 20kg dryer.
I will move in 4 days, not sure if I want this. moving out will be a pain
All heat pumps are heavy hence they can’t be wall mounted
If you buy from appliance online, you can book further ahead of time for delivery. Once you're moved in
If this doesn't ship via eBay, you can get it direct from the supplier at https://www.appliancesonline.com.au/product/esatto-8kg-heat-…
Use coupon code paypal30 to bring it down to $577 if paying with PayPal.
It's pretty much $20 delivered which is more than reasonable!
I have used the same dryer for over a year now and am very happy with it. I’ve done a lot of washing to optimise my washing and drying process.
EHPD80 dryer - I find that using the mix mode + anti-crease + intensity gives the best drying results and time. The maximum running time for this mode is 1 hour and 40 minutes. The dryer has a built-in humidity sensor and will automatically stop when the clothes are dry. Large loads of clothes consistently come out dry and usually finish in around 1 hour and 20 minutes or less. My average power consumption is 1.0 to 1.2 kW per load, depending on the amount of clothes. The only drawback I’ve noticed is that small toddler socks can sometimes block the lint filter, and a single piece of king size quilt never dries well - need manual flipping every 20 minutes to make it work. No issues with towels tho.
Bosch 7kg front load washer - This combined with my small 7kg washer. I typically run two separate loads of cold wash at 1200 rpm. The electricity consumption is 0.09 kW per wash.
My tips for using the washer:
1) Opt for cold washes—warm or hot washes consume significantly more electricity.
2) Run the washer at the highest RPM to reduce drying time.
3) Use less detergent, I always find the recommended detergent volume (i.e. 50ml for OMO detergent) for normal load is excessive my front loader
do you mean kWh?
That's exactly what I do. Half the amount of detergent
Do they take away old appliance through eBay like their online store
Had mine delivered this morning and they asked if I wanted an old one to be taken away.
How do you mount a washing machine on it? Some sort of stand?
Washing machine would go underneath?
I have one of these and snapped the belt due to putting too heavy a load into it - not it's fault. (7PH1965 is the belt code if anyone needs it). Before this it was used every day for a year and a half.
Money per load it is efficient (approx $1-2).
It doesn't have to be plumbed in or vented which if you are a novice like I learning about different dryers that are out there, this is a big plus.
My only concern with it is that it is very loud. Sounds like a tractor and the whole house can hear it from the laundry.
Anyone else have this issue? or is this a common thing with heat pump dryers?
I would say yours is faulty, mine doesn't make much noise at all. (Although its now faulty due to a faulty water sensor)
Thanks, Op. Purchased.
I have the previous version 7KG dryer (but the Aldi/Stirling one) and have been using it for 4+ years with almost no issues. However, in recent months, it has begun to display the 'Full' indicator prematurely, approximately 10 minutes into the cycle, despite the water collector bin being empty and both lint filters being clean.
Subsequently, I find myself needing to restart the dryer multiple times to complete a cycle, as the issue persists. Out of curiosity, is anyone else experiencing the same issue?
This is a known issue with this dryer and I have this exact issue. Customer support will try to pretend they don't know about this known issue.
I argued with them over the phone for selling dryers while knowing they have this issue and they sent the replacement water sensor part for free, but not the a repair person.
I went to replace the part and I found that you have to dismantle the entire thing including removing the drum just to get to the water sensor at the bottom of the dryer which is beyond what I think I can do without losing track of what goes where.
Now I'm stuck potentially paying $150-200 for someone to "maybe" fix it, or looking at replacing it.
The Essato customer support did claim "oh but I think we probably replaced the sensor with something more reliable" but I not sure if they actually have.
Thanks samfisher5986, can you share the replacement part name or part number. I'll try to see if my stirling has got a similar one.
Sorry for the delay, its MDL60-6201E-1021
I also have the same issue with this essato dryer, I would love to see the sensor part too if you don't mind, can you share the phone number to contact them, I can even find any spare parts for essato on ebay. Thanks
I'll have a look tonight.
Sorry for the delay, its MDL60-6201E-1021
Just going on 4 years for my 7kg and I have just started to experience same problem. I had a essato recommended repair person and he couldn't figure it out. Pulled the machine apart and charged $160, but problem is still there.
I have this and it's still working after 4 years. Does anyone know if it's normal to have build up of lint inside the grills behind the lower filter? I have to purchase a metal bristle brush to clean it out. Does anyone do this too? That's the only annoying thing about it to clean it 3x a year. I clean the top and bottom filters after every use and the grills 3x a year
Yep they build up pretty quickly inside the grills. I actually do mine once a month because I've heard the build up there can be a killer on the dryer, but if yours is still going well after 4 years maybe I'm just over cautious.
Could someone tell me if this has a sensor for its cycle ? Or is it only a time based cycle ?
It's got a sensor, once detected to be dry it runs a 5 min cool down before switching off
Anyone got tips to prevent clothes shrinking with one of these? Got one last winter but my whole family's clothes have gone down a size now haha
Run it on the cooler cycle or don't dry clothes that aren't made for the dryer.
Good points, about 90% of our kids clothes have tags that say not to put in a dryer (Kmart, best & less, cotton on etc).
Can't help but to put them in during the middle of winter.
Poor quality or delicate clothes will have those tags.
Just make sure you buy clothes that can be used in the dryer in the future.
Buy a size up
I have 7 kg one for 4 years now. I used outside with cover on the top. never have issue if you clean the filter regularly.
Might void the warranty?
This Vs Sunlight. Need a good reason to convice my parents lol.
Depending where you live but it's been raining for the past 4 days in brissy so we have had zero sunlight. Buying one of these because our cloths won't dry because of the humidity still
exact reason why i just bought one lol
The Britec dryer stand is a great option if stacking isn’t feasible or seems risky.

Looking for a dryer that I can put in living room due to space constraints. Is there such a dryer that won't blow out that much moisture during the drying process? Am worried about mould and high condensation in living room.
Heat pump dryers do not blow out any moisture. They can be used indoors without issues.
Is there someone who could show me a picture of how they connected the external draining hose to the back of the machine. I can’t seem to figure out which end connects to the black tube.
we have one of these works great use it all day long
I took a punt on one of these , replaced a far more expensive electrolux (non heat pump condenser dryer) that took forever to dry clothes so neded replaced.
Heat pump makes all the difference hardly any moisture kicked out to the surrounds in the room. Works great for the price about 2.5 years old and no complaints used daily …because kids of course.
