On-Site Park @ Sydney Airport - Upto 15 Days for $95 at The Old Long Term Car Park - Save $100+

40

I started looking for parking at Sydney Airport for my Xmas Vacation and the prices are indeed crazy, $56 a day at the airport itself.

I didn't care if it was covered parking or not and found the link above and considering the alternatives around, thought it was worth a mention for others in the same boat.

The Blu Emu Car Park (formerly the Long Term Car Park) is located on-site at Sydney Airport on Ross Smith Avenue and is just a short complimentary 8 minute shuttle ride to the Domestic T2 & T3 terminals on the Blu Emu Express.

Note this is not covered parking.

  • this appears to have been going since Feb this year…

anyone know if its possible to get to the international terminal from this parking?

Yes, you can take the free shuttle from here to Domestic Terminal, and then catch the train ($5) to International Terminal. Keep 20-30 minutes extra to reach the International Terminal (and coming back from to the car park on return).

I tried this parking last year. Parked my car for 7 days, cost me $100 on a coupon deal.

You can also catch another shuttle bus from domestic terminal to international terminal. It's $5 and from memory comes every 15 minutes

  • It was somewhere on the news, Sydney airport has one of the most expensive airport parking in the world. This might be good for someone travelling away for a couple of weeks or less where the round trip taxi fare would have been more expensive. Can't see any other use, can you?

    • I live out near Penrith and I have a 1 year old so a Taxi is out of the question on both accounts. I've taken the train before and it was so long and draining…

I have a 1 year old so a Taxi is out of the question

You can request a taxi with a baby seat.

        • It's not just babies anymore, it's any child under 7 on NSW roads…

        • aren't taxis exempt from having to use baby seats?

          from http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/roadsafety/children/childrestraint… :-

          Taxi drivers must ensure:

          • All passengers younger than 12 months must be secured in a child restraint.
          • All passengers aged over 12 months and under 16 years must:
            • occupy a seating position that is fitted with a suitable seatbelt, and
            • not occupy the same seating position as another passenger (whether or not the other passenger is exempt from wearing a seatbelt under rule 267), and
            • wear the seatbelt properly adjusted and fastened.

So a 1 year old should not necessarily stop you from using a taxi.

Although I'd still be worried about how some of them drive, restraint or no restraint.

        • Taxis are exempt. Found that handy fact the other day when requesting a taxi with baby seat. As long as they are over 1 and sits on their own seat (obviously with someone holding them in place). Wouldn't recommend it for anything longer than a short trip if it can be avoided.
