Please add Boost Mobile in title

  • Recharge by 29th April?

    • +3

That’s for the bonus data, which usually every month it’s the same bonus GB anyway, just the month for the promo will change

  • +1

Do I need to buy physical sim first then convert to esim for this discount?

    • Same question

    • Curious if you found an answer - just got caught by this and I think I’m going to have to wait for them to send me a physical sim before I can convert.

    • I'm curious as well if anyone can share their work around here. :)

      • +4

        Special terms
Important: Multiple SIM purchases need to be made as separate transactions. Adding more than one SIM to an order will result in an untracked purchase.

SIM must be activated within 30 days of ordering.

Cashback is ineligible on recharges, phones, bundles, accessories, eSIMs, plans or products not listed in the cashback table of rates, use of codes not listed on Cashrewards, and purchases via the Boost app.

You must return and click through Cashrewards for each new transaction.

i was hoping t get an esim to but seems like they dont do cashbacks for them.

    • Guessing this is the way? Also prob best to wait cb approval (upto 95 days) before converting jic

Switched to Everyday Mobile. Don't really need 5G and Boost has been going up and up in price.

    • +1

      same same

    • Doesnt have free international minutes as well?

      • No I switched as well but couldn’t call NZ the other day

    • +1

I'm switching to Boost from Everyday mobile. Which has gone up too.
Comparing $170 plan 125gb Everyday plan compared to the Boost $180 (after cashback) 170gb.
Boost has 5G, more data and is on the full Telstra network too.

The only thing that was holding me back was the 10% off woolies shop every month, but I will get the $35/year Everday Extra deal

      • You could have two discounts a month on one rewards cards (mobile +everyday extra)

        • Oh, I didn't know that! Might be a good reason for us to shift over - thanks!

  • +9

It's cheaper from Lucky Mobile 178$, and with OW price beat it will come to 169.10$!! For the 230$ SIM!!!

    • Link please

    • +4
    • As mentioned in the previous threads, you can’t checkout on that SIM, it’ll give you not an option to enter your card details

      • Just got to the personal details page of the checkout now? Not sure if can go to the final total end ?

        • +1

The credit card details page is there but you can’t enter anything

          • +1

@BargainsGrabber: Oh, thanks for clearing that up. Don't need one now, was just curious and testing for others.

      • +1

I was still able to get it price beat at officeworks over the phone.

    • OW won't PB luckymobile.

      • Not true I just did it but only for the 195 price, paid $185

        • +1

In Jan, i went to office works for PB, they refused to PB because the sale code of Lucky mobile did not match with OW. Later that day, i had a chat with Boost and requested to give discount on recharge instead of having to buy a new sim, port in and port out hassle. The Chat rep, offered a free recharge of $230. Happily took offer, thanked the OW staff for refusing to PB.

    • could you share which state and OW shop? so far i've been unsuccessful in getting OW to price beat LM in NSW

      • Exactly right, they have been refusing to PB LM.

  • For existing boost users, do we need to port in and port out?

    • Same situation - with Boost and current plan expires in late-May. Anyone did a port out and port-in ? How long did you have to be ported out?

      • +5

I just did this last week. $5 Aldi sim. Activate online, no recharge as it comes with $5 credit. Boost gets disconnected shortly after (<30 mins?).
I waited a day or so with the Aldi sim in because it was Sunday and I was home on wifi anyway.
Monday activate Boost sim. Aldi sim disconnects shortly after. Put Boost sim in and test. No problems.

Pretty sure you could do all this in under an hour , but I saw that post where the guy did it too quickly from Telstra to Boost and it didn't churn yet so he had to wait…and you all drilled him for it lol.

        • I did the exact same thing few days ago. Boost - Aldi - Boost and waited 1.5hrs before porting back into Boost and it worked =) Porting process for me from disconnecting and reconnecting was less than 10min each time.

        • I did the same thing, then spent 2 days trying to get my Boost sim activated. Even support couldn’t get it done for some reason. It was over 9 hours in total chatting to support.

      • +1

I do other way around than others. I make a phone call to boost and request to recharge my existing number. I tell them, i forgot and bought a new sim instead of recharge. They happily transfer my number to new sim.

    • +2

Yes, these aren't recharges so you will have to port out of Boost and then port back in.

    • -1

Contact support via chat and they will activate it for you anyways, that's what I've done the past couple of years

      • Did this for many years but lately they put up a LOT more of a fight.

        • But it still works right? I'm due soon… Last year I contacted support first asking for a discount recharge, they recommended I do this trick with new sims…

          • +1

@buellersdayoff: No. I did it in July last year, but it was pretty much impossible: You couldn't do it on chat, you had to call, and I had to have a second phone number they could call me on to complete the process as they insisted on doing it while I was on the phone (transferring my old number to the new SIM), and completing the process to confirm it was completed, and it was very clear that I wouldn't be able to do it in the future. When you did it on chat they could do it and allow the SIM to deactivate and rely on you switching to WiFi to allow the chat to stay alive to tell you to put the new SIM in so they could transfer your number to the new SIM.

I don't think you'll find a successful report after July last year.

            P.S. love your handle.

            • +1

@BJReplay: Thanks, might have to bite the bullet and cough up the recharge amount, bummer really as there seems to be no discounts on recharge

              • @buellersdayoff: Depending on when your end date is, consider porting out to Telstra and back in: see https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/837490. Not as much data with Telstra, but if you don't use a lot, same coverage, same network, yada yada. My end date is early July, so I'm about to do this - and the Telstra free Overseas minutes works outs slightly better for me: I have an overseas trip and using a roaming eSim for data so I can use my Telstra Sim while OS, I will be able to call more of the local numbers in places in Europe (e.g. for restaurant bookings or hotels etc.)

              • @buellersdayoff: Don't do that, get a $2 sim from any other network and port to it first. Quick and easy.

        • Oh god, the process this year was quite the headache. I always opt for the live chat, but the operator insisted on providing only 160 GB of data, without the 10 GB bonus, and wouldn't reconsider. She then suggested I return the $230 Starter SIM. At that point, I decided to call Boost directly.

The first operator I spoke with tried to convince me that using a Starter SIM as a recharge was not possible – which is absurd, as I've successfully done this for the past three years through live chat. When I mentioned that my parents had also managed to do this, he changed his tune, claiming Boost had decided to restrict this practice due to an increase in fraudulent activities related to transferring SIMs. As a security measure, they would only allow it once. I responded, expressing relief that I was calling and they had already confirmed my identity through their verification process. This frustrated the operator, who then claimed I had already done this last year and proceeded with their threat to hang up…rude.

I called again and the next operator processed the Starter SIM as a recharge, including the bonus data with no fuss.

The outcome is entirely dependent on a lottery of which operator you get – just keep trying.

    • Yes you do. I did it with a cheap Vodafone sim. There was a better than half price deal in woolies $4 for 10gb for a month or something.

Did the initial boost to voda port in late evening and then the voda to new boost porting in the next morning, just to ensure everything ported over smoothly (confirmed by texting and calling my number from my partner's)

    • Yes

  • +7

For cashback: SIM must be activated within 30 days of ordering.

    • +1

Thank you, was about to order thinking I can activate after 3 months

      • +3

The $50 cashback offer is until June, so you still have time to wait and buy in around 3 months. My plan expires in May, so i'll be getting this then, unless something better comes first.

        • +1

          Thank you, added reminder

          • @hopper: Beware, i just got an email from cashrewards, and it seems they updated the expiry date to May31st, although the website still says June 30.

        • +2

Sounds like a couple of us in the same boat. Musta been a deal on May last year :D

I reckon there'll be a deal on the 170Gb SIM in the next few weeks. Add $50 cashback and we'll all be set until next year!

  • Hi is this deal applicable to recharge users as well ?or new users only.
I tried the recharge and only offers 240gb but then goto credit card and cant see anywhere to apply the promo code or do i apply code in paypal?

    • +2

New users only. If you’re currently with Boost, port out and port back in

      • When you port back in, do you need to setup new account with new email?

  • When does the $180 deal SIM expire?

  • +3

    12-Month Prepaid SIMs: $30 off $300 260GB + $50 Cashback on $230 170GB, $300 260GB, $365 365GB via Cashrewards @ Boost Mobile

That's quite a complicated title for the first thing on a Sunday morning!

A couple of brackets might make it clearer.

    12-Month Prepaid SIMs: $30 off $300 260GB + $50 Cashback ($50 CB also on $230 170GB & $365 365GB) via Cashrewards @ Boost Mobile

    • +1

      done:)

  • If you're with woolworths, can you port directly to boost, or do you need an interim sim?

    • You can port directly to Boost from Woolies. Even though they're on the same network they're still different companies. Boost has the the full Telstra network. Woolies has the wholesale network.

    • -1

Yes to be safe, no if you're not worried about potentially having a bad time

  • So $230 sim would be $230 -$30 - $50 = $150?

    • +1

230 sim goes down to 180 (after $50 cashback)
      300 sim goes down to 220 (after 30 voucher + 50 cashback)

      • thank you :)

        • +1

$230 ($180 after cashback) plan includes 170GB, 160GB next recharge.

          $300 ($220 after cashback & $30 off) plan includes 260GB, 240GB next recharge.

  • Does the data rollover month to month?

    • +2

It's one big lot of data that expires in 12 months time.
Use it all in one day if you like.

    • +1

It's data and calls and texts for the whole year. You share the 230gb data for the whole year. Works great if you have wifi at home and never use data. Then on vacation you can use like a baller.

Just be careful not to use all of the 230gb data because it's data for the whole year. Once you run out it's expensive to recharge for a whole year. FYI I used only 20gb last year with always watching bluey videos while on vacation. Just set a data warning at 10gb.

      • I'm assuming if you (somehow) used all the 230G of data you could simply purchase another 365 day pack and port out/back and you'd probably still be better off doing that than buying additional data blocks ?

  • So both of our pre-paid services are expiring tomorrow…
If I buy two new service/SIM and request the Support to add them against my existing numbers, will I be still eligible for cashback?

    • +2

To save yourself some heartache, I would just get an Aldi $5 sim and port out then back in as "new" customers. Your cashback will track then.

      • Thanks, but if I order the Boost SIM online, I will also have to wait till the SIM to be delivered to my address right?
(As my current Boost Service will expire tomorrow… )

        • +3

Order now, port tomorrow, port back when your sim arrives in a day or two. Perfect timing!

  • +2

Got one. $220 for 260 GB when activated prior to 29/4 is a great deal. Currently with boost, plan expiry mid May, but will do a portitution 🤣 with some other telco and then with Boost around 20/4. Thanks for the post!

    • I have been used to paying only $150 or less (slightly lower GBs though, e.g. 180GB) for Boost for years so these prices look a bit high to my mind.

    • +5

This is the full Telstra network. 5G being speed limited is the only real difference

      • +1

Yeah, it really depends what you're after. Telstra/Boost for reach or Optus/Amaysim for speed.

      • Except it's not. You will get full Telstra coverage with boost but data is non-existent in crowded spots of city and malls while my mate with Telstra is downloading and browsing just fine.

        • +1

I concur this hardly data works with Boost in Train near North Sydney , Milsons Point etc though 5G with 4 bars. Even though Boost is full Telstra but preference is Telstra postpaid ,Telstra Prepaid and then Boost prepaid during network congestion I believe

  • my amaysim will expire july 5, may I confirm if I buy this say June 27 to avail of cashback and port from amaysim to this sim /activate it July 3, i still should be ok? what is the activate by 29/4 for? TIA

  • +1

Waiting for $100/365 day deal.. !

  • +1

So, no one hit issue with "Something went wrong" ?

    • +1

      I have, unfortunately!

      • +1

        I have too!!!

  • +1

Thank you OP .. been waiting for this to combine with https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/833305, Cashback from Westpac offers is expiring today for anyone looking to combine this .. my current Boost plan is expiring on 11 May .. looks like will have to port out and port in. 230$ sim is 150$ if we combine CR 50$ cashback + Westpac 30$ cashback

  • Curious about upcoming boost broadband

  • Boost have jacked up their price so much that even after this discount and cashback it still feels expensive

    • +1

I got the 300 for 216. Jumped over from Kogan which is garbage. Given their 300 gig plan is 270 atm, I'd say boost is decently priced

  • thanks OP!

  • has the code expired already?

    • Seems so…

  • BOOST270 - $30 code off on $300 plan has expired.

  • +1

My Sim expires on Easter lol didn't want to risk it being late in the post so price matched 230 Sim lucky mobile at officeworks for $185.

Bought $5 aldi Sim. Port in and out all done in 20 minutes easy as.

  • I am unable to checkout, nothing but errors on the last processing step. Anyone else getting this?

  • Auditech is selling the $230 SIM for $188.60 delivered on their website
