Reebok Classic Leather 1983 Vintage Shoes (Chalk/Vector Red Colourway) $49.99 + $12 Delivery ($0 C&C/ $150 Order) @ Hype DC

980

Only one colourway on special. Cool OG comfy kicks for a decent price. Plenty of sizes available. I was able to pick it up in EU43 from Castle Hill, NSW store today.

My first Reebok Classics which I have been wanting to buy for a while. They look nice and can go with most casual attires. Keeping them clean might be a challenge but probably better than suede. Also, not for any specific sport and probably good for walking only.

Fit is slightly narrow, is a neutral shoe and have a slight side to side roll. I will suggest that you try these out before buying.

Not high tech or with some boostreact super soft sole or with some flying priming knitted upper but still surprisingly comfortable. I am sure these will have ventilation issues like most leather shoes.

      it'll pass. class is permanent…

I find the colourway really good as it is very neutral which allows it to go with most outfits. This is why it is great to have a choice as everyone has their own preference.

The white ones are the only ones worth buying.

I got these delivered yesterday. Got a pair for my missus as well
The quality of the leather is so much better than most of my Jordans and Nikes lmfao. I'm NOT exaggerating, the leather is so soft!!
Other than that, the shoe isnt very comfortable but top down view is great. Nice to have in the rotation.

    • I agree with the leather quality as it was a surprise to me too. I am not a Nike/jordan person but the few Adidas and Pumas leather shoes that I have or had in the past do/did not have this level of quality. I hope they last long enough though and do not peel.

      • Even the Reebok pump reissues have this cheap vinyl type of leather.

        • +1

The vintage models have the nicest finishes and better mid-soles.
the towelling inners are more comfy too (got the C85 club vintage and TVs)

        • My pumps have good leather, better than my jordans'

  • Classic leather white and gum soles are a staple, but 49.99 for grey is compelling

    • I agree with that. White/Gum is probably the most classy and recognisable combo but not at the price they have advertised.

      • In what universe is $140 a lot for a quality shoe lmfao

        • Theyre often on sale for between 70 and 100 so if you pay 140 for it you've let yourself down.

        • +2

They are certainly not the quality or tech of say Brooks Adrenaline, Asics GT line or Adidas Pureboost or Ultraboost lines which can be found for under $140 around the year. Intact, Reebok themselves have these regularly for $60-$90.

If you are paying $140 for these then you Ozbargainer badge should be taken straightaway! :)

@RandomDealHunter: I mean, you're comparing apples to oranges, in literally every aspect.

            1) Comparing retail price to discounted price. I almost never buy retail but thats the standard of comparison.
            2) $140 retail is very cheap for retail and this leather quality.
            3) i love my ultraboosts but the styles is so different, also they dont cost $50 when discounted
            4) I bought these at $50, my badge is bright and shinning

  • Pretty cheap, probably best to try on I've heard the run small (or more narrow than other models). Also heard comfort isn't great but appreciate the old-school geezer shoes.

I'd recommend the club c 85 vintage for $20 more:

    • They in fact run large. Size 9 UK/ 10 US/ EU43 are normally 27 or 27.5cm in other brands. This one says 28cm. I agree with narrow width.

C85s are not my style tbh as they look like skater shoes and are quite flat which does not suit my flat feet but appreciate the input.

      • Best to try on, being that narrow may need to order bigger.

Ps. They are actually more like tennis aka court shoes than skate shoes, I wouldn't skate in those.

        • True. But my pair is nowhere as narrow as some Nikes (say Pegasus range) where I have trouble getting my feet into.

          • @RandomDealHunter: Luckily US9 sold out anyway so the temptation is gone.
The Hype sizing chart doesn't even have cm.
            Says US9 = EU42 whereas my Nike Pegasus is US = EU 42.5, 27cm

My C85 TENNIS says US9 = EU 42, 27cm. Seems true to size.
