What's with that Amazon description? Looks like something one would find on Aliexpress.

Maybe translated from German as it's mported from Germany.

      • That makes more sense

    Metal that's tough and viscous.

    Like Terminator 2?

  • Thanks, bought 1. Will replace the one i got from bunnings.

I can't tell if I'd regret this purchase.. Keen for a solid Zyklop deal at some point, but I could use a compact set like this if it's durable

    • As long as you have something to put them in

      • There is a ratchet screwdriver in the "frequently bought together", which seems to be heavily discounted, at ~$38. is that a good item for these bits, at a good price?

    Z

  • Paid $24.54 for this before

Even with a 12% discount still not this cheap

    Good price

WOW fantastic price. I don’t need this as I have the kit with the ratchet it but I purchased anyway. Spare bits will come in handy one day.

  • Well damn. I paid $28.69 for this back in January. I will redeem myself now and buy another.

  • Now we just need a sale on their socket sets

  • too bad they are not impact rated 😕

  • What makes bits good or bad?

    • Cheap bits can break or deform, will often not grip the screw head properly and sometimes damage it. Part of that may be due to how common Philips head screws are and that they're used inappropriately. They're designed so that if you over tighten them, the screwdriver "cams out" (the sloped sides act like a ramp to force it out). You'll sometimes see bits that have ridges or teeth on them to bite the head and not cam out.

It's a shame Philips is so ubiquitous. There are lots of options for better heads.

      • Yep, I always find if the head slips, it drills the head and destroys it, rendering the screw stuck.
So is there a bit shape that prevents this? I don't really get it.

        • +1

Philips are Philips, they're deliberately flawed in their design, but Torx screws are your best bet.
Pozidriv and JIS are also better for most applications.
