Bought one of these last year at $180 and was a good deal at the time. Been a fantastic unit that has decent power, good size without taking up the whole countertop and had zero issues. Hope this helps someone looking for a new air fryer.

  • This is the same one as "XL" on JB, as model number is the same and might just be a title error on Amazon's side.
I have had this for over a year and I can vouch for it too. It's very quiet compared to my old one which was also a Philips one but one of the 1st generation ones (I can't remember the name).

The Tefal has slightly taken damage just from overtime usage (I only use a soft sponge to clean). But the old one also started to show wear after a year or so.
I'd say it's still worth it. It's currently $199 locally (JB, Goodguys etc) - https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/philips-essential-digital…

  • Other than the size, has anyone done the research on what are the meaningful differences with this cheaper model?

Capacity is different: 4.1L in cheaper model vs 6.4L, so it's physically smaller with a much smaller tray.

The dial controls are less accurate on the cheaper model compared to a touchscreen digital readout where you can set time and temp and preset settings. Some reviews on amazon where people hate the dials as they can be inaccurate by a few minutes!

The cheaper model is 1400w vs 2000w power. Not actually sure what effect that will have on the cooking though. Perhaps it's a little slower to get to temp?
