Sit Stand Desk 1500mm x 750mm for $464 (Was $959) + $39.95 Metro Delivery @ Office Stock

35
25OFF

I recently bought this manual height adjustable sit stand desk and it's great. There are different sizes and build spec (note these are premium builds suitable for commercial use, not Ikea/OfficeWorks grade). I got the 1500mm x 750mm white variant. At $464 on special (including use of 25OFF promo code) this is a great price for the spec and you don't have any motors to worry about. The handle to adjust the height tucks away nicely underneath when not in use (defaults to right side but you can move it to the left side) or you can choose to completely remove the handle. The handle is really easy to crank to adjust the height even when the desk is fully loaded. Flat $39.95 delivery to metro locations, extra for non-metro.

Comparison of desks I looked at in this build quality and size, both motorised and manual. Typically the others are at least $100+ more expensive for the manual, and $300+ for the motorised.

Huh? $464 + $40 Delivery for a manual height adjustable sit stand desk?

You could get a Dual Motorised Electric Desk (80kg Capacity) with 150cm Top $284.13 Delivered @ Lazy Maisons eBay

But let's say you don't want a motorised electric desk. $75 it's more reasonable

    • +4

100% this is not a deal.

    • -3

You’re linking to two dead deals.

      • -1

Two dead deals, but that's the kind of deal would someone expect. Anyway, I didn't neg or anything, I just have put my opinion.

    • Lol 100kg weight rating verse 20kg from that old Supercheap deal

      • -2

Yep, apples and oranges. This is a commercial grade desk.

  • -3

The build quality of those cheap desks is exactly that, cheap. The quality of this desk is on par with the UpDown desk. Far more premium build.

    • +2

Not like it made out of mahagony timber. It's cheap and overpriced melamine desk.

    • +1

I have seen it comes with 10 years warranty on work top & 12 years on frame. I still believe it's a bit expensive. $200 - $250 would be more reasonable.

      • -1

I researched 30 odd desks in this category and this was the best spec and quality for the price. But, anyway, that's my opinion. Each to their own.

  • Man, the asking price of these are insane.

Bought one from Hardly Normal in late 2022 for $250.

    • Yeah the early covid era pricing for these are long gone :(.

      • with the ikea discount a month ago they were much more reasonably priced

  • +3

not a deal, way too expensive for a manual stand up desk.

    • -5

Of course you can pay less if you want lower quality like with anything. That doesn't make this a bad deal imo.

  • +2

Crazy price for a wide up. Kmart used to sell these for under $100

    • -3

If you want the $100-200 range then the Ikea ones are probably your best bet. This desk is commercial grade.

      • +3

What is a 'commercial grade' desk used for that a cheaper one can't do? Sure, it can hold a few extra kilos, but it is still melamine desk top that cheaper models are also made from. You're defending this desk saying it's so much better than others. Can you please explain how… Without using the words commercial grade?

What I looked for when selecting a sit/stand desk
          - Top size and style
          - Height range
          - Stability (does it wabble)
          - Load capacity
          - Build material (top, frame, weight)
          - Certifications
          - Warranty

I thought this desk was the best bang for buck for the quality/price point I was interested in.

@spaceinvader2054: All of those features you mentioned are offered by cheaper models. Am i missing something here?
IMO, you should go out and see for yourself what other stores (online or in a physical shop) have to offer. I seriously can't justify the original RRP nor the special price. By doing some simple searches, you can find much better value desks offering the same features for less.

    • FYI That Ikea desk has half the load capacity at 50kg. Not saying its a bad desk, it just isn't in the same build quality range as this desk.

      • You do know the “stand” in sit stand desks doesn’t refer to you standing on it? What the heck do you need 100Kg for??

        • +1

I think they may have a scenario to act out by doing ummm…. Fun activities and 50kg payload won't hold up

  • +2

Wow that’s expensive, got my 1500x750 dual motor desk with 120kg load capacity for $401 from Catch

  • +4

Very expensive, I bought a "commercial grade" 100kg dual motor 3 stage frame and a 1500 wide rapidline scalloped edge melamine top for combined <$400 last year.

A manual desk should be proportionately cheaper.

There's no industry accepted criteria for "commercial grade" and definitely nothing commercial grade about this MDF tabletop.

Example of an ex. Ozb deal that's probably a better option, even at retail price.. and they throw in a monitor arm and pegboard

Didn't expect this post to be so polarising! Sounds like you got yourself a decent desk. I couldn't find what I wanted for sub $400 and unfortunately I don't have a time machine to take advantage of previous deals. FYI AFRDI is one example for certifying commercial grade.

  • Love how OP is defending this with all his heart.
    Upvote just for that.
    Though not a bargain.

    • +1

Haha, just sharing my thoughts over a desk of all things.

  • +1

    Too much man!

In my experience manually cranked desks are so slow and tedious to raise and lower that most people can't be bothered in the end, which defeats the purpose.

If you have some use case where you only have to raise or lower the desk once a month, maybe the manual crank makes sense.
