Except if maybe ants were doin' it

      • +6

Could be perfect for recreating those wwe wrestling moves.

      • hahaha im not the only one who thought of this

      • +2

It will be just one boom. Followed by a loud bang. Then lots of screaming in pain.

        • Sounds about the same then

          • @sngr: Not quite. Unless you and/or you partner ends up with broken bones or dislocated joints every time you do the horizontal rumba.

    Maximum recommended weight load 20kg

what is that? is that for an ant?

    • +3

do you stack bricks on your desk or something?

27" monitors are about the 5kg mark with stands and are ~60cm wide, the desk is 120cm wide, so 2 monitors will fit and you're at half the weight limit…. last i checked, a keyboard, mouse and maybe some pens & paper didn't weigh 10kgs.

it's also a manual crank, so any weight you put on the desk you've gotta wind up and down yourself…

      • +14

I like to pile three crts on my desk for a triple monitor setup.

        /s

        • at 1,2 meters you wont have enough room to make the 20kg limit

say and avg. set of powered spks as well

maybe a laptop… should be ok

      • +3

Until you lean on the desk and it collapses

      • so realistically you can use this as a computer desk right.. anyone tried it?

      • If you put your desktop on your desk, game over with this desk.

My fairly compact 18.6L desktop weighs close to 12kg, 7.3kg for my 29" ultrawide monitor, even with nothing else on the table if I breathe funny it could fall apart.

    • My 2 32” monitors are 9.5kg each, won’t leave much for other items

      • I wouldn't be leaning on that desk if you gonna load it up.

    • +2

20Kg is only the max. recommended load, given that there appears to be a decent amount of bracing underneath the desk top (based on pic), I would be very surprised if it couldn't handle double that. Maybe if you concentrated an entire 20+ Kg load at the weakest point of the desk then maybe you would have problems that would develop over time. This is just me speculating though.

    Manual Crank

    Giggity giggity!

  • heaps of stock everywhere in syd

    i wonder why

  • +2

Isn't it a stand - stand desk….. those metal bars would stop you from being able to sit at the desk…. or maybe you thread your legs through the gap???

    • Some people are short in stature though.

    • I think the bars are far back enough that they don't hit your legs, depends on the person though

      • Desk is only 60cm wide (most desks are 70cm), so I'd assume the bar is 30cm in….. As long as they have very short legs or very long arms so they can reach a keyboard when they can't roll a chair in to the desk :-)

  • I'm in the market for a cheap 4 wheels but I'm 80kg

  • No jiggy jiggy on this , hopefully there is a warning sticker for office manager role play

One good thing about Covid, is seeing all these random stores selling random things

The other day I saw a store that just sold things like hand sanitizer, masks, etc

  • (that isn't flooded)

Just raise the desk to raise it over the flood waters! #thinker

  • What is the crank time for this table?

      ok bianca

Looks similar to the one Aldi stocks once a year.

I don't recommend it. The bar underneath is terrible. I knocked my knees against the Aldi one way too many times.

  • she is always cranky

  • Lol. Why would anyone buy one of these? If you're after a standing desk get a proper one, I'd recommend Omnidesk. 4 years in and working excellent

I have an electric desk at work I adjust all the time through the day for standing/sitting, so bought a similar manual sit/stand desk for home - I never use the adjuster of the manual one at home, just so annoying to use, it's now just used as a normal desk. Definitely wish I'd forked out for a proper electric desk for home, and will do shortly

Thanks OP. Got it for $59.8

There is a $10 loyalty credit mail received just 4 hours ago.
$75-$10 = $65 paid using suncorp rewards gift card at 8% off.
Final price $59.8 , not bad for a kids desk having just 1 laptop

  • Love a manual crank 😉

I make sure to get my oil change at officeworks. Don't you all do that?

  • Anyone know a good alternative to a manual sit/stand desk that's a little bigger - 140 * 70. Other than IKEA?

  • thanks . got one

  • +1

Absolutely best buy. A little bit of to put screws on at some places once done ✔️ its great

  • Thanks OP! just collected my order. I have $10 SCA credit + $10 off CBA offer so I spent only $55 for this quality desk.
Have to say the build quality is pretty good!

  • Had some credits. Ended up picking one of these up for $64.
Other than a couple threads needed to be chased to clean up. Very very straight forward assembly in about 20min.
Cranking action is smooth, heights are great. Pretty good space for my needs.

I know that the low weight rating is concerning, but I have a 34" and a 24" on separate gas arms, laptop in the middle, dock, plus a PS4. And keyboard mouse + soundbar and other bits and bobs.

Cranking is still smooth, and the desk does not look like it's over loaded.

Total bargain. Might even invest in a motorised solution if I find the time.
