Tl;dr do they work? Or did I stuff something up?
The wife, our three children and I were at Big W today. In an effort to make my scrimping a little less disruptive I scanned items into the Big W app as we went to keep a total.
When we were done and on our way to the registers I hopped onto the NSW Seniors WISH card portal using my Dad's details to login, to purchase a 5% off card equal to the value of our transaction ($86). This would be the first time I have attempted to do this.
I selected Everyday Wish, selected "buy as a gift", them filled in the details and added to cart. It was at this point that we got to the checkout and the family got loud and annoyed, so I just went as fast as I could to complete the transaction. I don't remember any details of what happened next - four voices talking to you simultaneously will do that.
When I went into my bank account after we were away from checkout, the full $86 face value of the gift card had been deducted from my card.
What has gone wrong here? Do they check the Biller Details (I used mine, not my Dad's) against the NSW Seniors details during checkout? It's the only thing I can think of, as I've gone through checkout again (just not paid) and it shows the correct amount under the pay button once you've entered your card details.
Or have I unwittingly made an error in the rush to get it done prior to checkout?
(Obviously I can't just complain, as I'm using my Dad's NSW Seniors details.)
The discount is off the purchase price of the gift card.
The digital gift card is emailed and I add it to my Rewards app.
At the checkout, the full price of the purchases is deducted.
It's always worked for me.
